Wigan where by far the best team last year, after solid recruitment can anyone get near them. Will Hull KR & Leigh continue on from last year's decent seasons, will the sleeping giants (yes Hull, Leeds and Warrington this is you) wake up. And who will be the surprise package.

Championship. 
This is in my opinion the best league. Genuine competition at the top and for the play off places.  Even the bottom could be as tight as last year.

League one.
Unfortunately not as competitive in my opinion, after the drama of the off season, hard to see beyond Oldham doing what Dewsbury did last year and walking away with it. Competing for the play off places could be interesting. 

NRL.
Can anyone stop Penrith (who've won 4 grand finals in a row).

And what should be a fascinating and great game of rugby league in the World club game as Wigan face Penrith.

Canterbury beat Canberra 22-8. Cronulla also get a win at South Sydney 20-6.  And Penrith take advantage of Melbourne loss beating Newcastle 22-14.

Wigan are back on top of SL, after beating Leigh 28-6, in there game in hand.

St Helens win in golden point against Salford 17-16. Catalans also win a close one at Huddersfield 23-22. And Hull KR beat Castleford 36-6.

CHAMPIONSHIP 
Wakefield win again, this time v Sheffield 42-6.

NRL

Gold Coast crash back to earth after last week, getting stuffed at home by Cronulla 44-0. Penrith win a high scoring affair at Parramatta 36-34. And Melbourne bounce back after last week's loss winning at South Sydney 28-16.

First shock of the weekend Doncaster beat Toulouse 20 - 18 and move into the playoffs at the expense of Featherstone.

And in SL

Leeds hammer Wigan 30-4, to keep Hull KR top of the table.

NRL

All away wins.

Manly win in Canberra 46-24, Brisbane win at North Queensland 42-18. And Canterbury win at St George 28-10..

Hull where abysmal, Hull KR very good. Otherwise pretty average weekend.

CHAMPIONSHIP 

Dewsbury are all but relegated, losing at home to Barrow 31-24. And Barrow needed that victory as everybody around them won. Whitehaven with 16 fit players get a fantastic win v Doncaster 28-24. Swinton beat Halifax 20-6. Wakefield win again,  this time v Widnes 36-12. But the rest of the top 5 lose. York getting a great win in Toulouse 20-12, Sheffield losing at home to Batley 24-14. And Bradford losing to Featherstone at home 22-21.

LEAGUE ONE 

Midlands get a tough win at Cornwall 18-6. Hunslet beat North Wales 28-20. And Rochdale piling on the points at Newcastle 78-6.

canterbury beat Dolphins 30-10. West Tigers get a big win v South Sydney 18-16. Sydney Roosters cruise to victory v Parramatta 38-14. As do North Queensland who beat Canberra 42-4. Cronulla win in golden point against Newcastle 19-18. Manly continue there recent form winning against New Zealand warriors 24-10. And St George beat Gold Coast 32-16.

Congratulations to Oldham, who won at Keighley 20-12, tobwin the league one title, and go up to the championship.

Interesting problem at the bottom of SL.

Hull FC who have been really poor could finish bottom.  But London Broncos (who have really battled despite being behind the 8 ball all season) will probably get relegated. Why, because rather then doing the right thing, we are going on an img grading to do with off field). Just doesn't seem right.
And there will be a relegated side, because Wakefield aren't making there signings to still be in the championship.

Warrington keep up the pressure at the top of the table, winning 28-6 at Castleford.  Hull KR respond in a fantastic way today, winning at St Helens 42-6. Leeds get an important victory in there play off chase, beating Catalans 18-6. Salford stuff Huddersfield 60-10.

CHAMPIONSHIP. 
Toulouse lose again, this time at Featherstone 22-10.

NRL 
West Tigers get a great result v Manly 34-26. Brisbane get back winning, beating Parramatta 30-24. Canterbury good season continues with a great victory at New Zealand warriors 34-18. Melbourne have all but clinched the league leaders shield.  Beating Dolphins 48-6, coupled with Penrith lose at Canberra 22-18. Newcastle win at South Sydney  36-16.

The bottom 4met. With the Cumbrian sides winning. Barrow beating Swinton 20-18. And Whitehaven winning at Dewsbury 18-10. A win that condemned Dewsbury to the drop back to league one.
Widnes beat Sheffield 35-20, a win that not only helped them but Bradford as well, after Bradford won 18-4 at Doncaster.  York beat Batley 37-6

Castleford get an away win at a Hull FC team that just want the season to end 39-20.
But the big result was Friday night. As Leigh get an excellent win against Warrington 16-12. Which coupled with Wigan win at Catalans 26-18 puts them in the play offs. And also with Hull KR winning 32-12 v Salford,  gives Hull KR and Wigan a 4 point advantage over 3rd place Warrington. Which is big at this stage of the season,  and also because they play each other this week, meaning who ever loses will not be lower than 2nd. At the weekends finish.

CHAMPIONSHIP 

Bradford get an expected win v Dewsbury, and do it fairly comfortably 58-0. Helped by Toulouse beating Sheffield 32-12, so Bradford are solo in 3rd place.

LEAGUE ONE 
Midlands lose at home to Hunslet 28-22.

NRL
Melbourne lose, as North Queensland beat them 38-30. Penrith take advantage,  beating South Sydney 34-12 to close the gap. Canterbury surprisingly lose at home to Manly 34-22. As do Cronulla who lose at home 28-30 to New zealand warriors.  Dolphins win the Brisbane Derby,  winning easily 40-6 against Brisbane.  And Parramatta win 44-40 v St George in a game where defence didn't matter.

In London,  Leeds again beat London Broncos by a golden point drop goal, this time 21-20. And St Helens win at Huddersfield 18-10.

In the league table, the only change from last week is Leigh being 6th with Catalans now 7th.

Batley lose at home to Widnes  12-8. Halifax get an important victory at Doncaster 17-16. York get a big victory,  winning at Whitehaven 40-0. Featherstone get a win v Barrow 36-18. And Wakefield keep winning, this time 60-0 at Swinton

This weekend saw the end of the league one season.
With Oldham finishing the season in style with a 56-0 win against Workington.  Rochdale beat Keighley 32-18, and North Wales inflict Cornwall's latest defeat 40-10.

The big one, Wigan take advantage from Hull KR having 2 sin bins to win 24-20. Rovers were the better team, Wigan some outstanding bits of play.
Leeds compound Hull FC dismal season, winning 68-6. And Leigh continue there charge winning at Castleford 34-12.
