Help me out guys :).
Hi guys, I've been into rugby now for approximately 3 seasons so now I'm needing help on who to support/follow so I've come up with a few options below but I can't seem to put up a poll so just comment on this thread, I will leave it open until the end of next week .
The options I have come up with are:-
Remain Neutral
Sale Sharks
Bristol Bears
Leicester Tigers
Edinburgh
Glasgow
I'll leave it up to you guys now so don't let me down .

If from the Highlands as your name suggests, technically Glasgow Warriors would be your team, as they merged with Caledonia Reds, ( North and Midlands District of Scotland team) and I believe their youth players still feed into Glasgow. Glasgow were known as Glasgow Caledonians for a few seasons after the merger, before dropping it and later adding Warriors.
Otherwise if not feeling an attachment to any team, go with the underdogs in each game, you'll have more downs than ups that way, which seams to be what happens most club fans.

what Kingshu says.
The team you support is in your heart - you cannot change it. Thats how I ended up an Edinburgh fan and its painful!
Go to some games.

Re: Help me out guys :).
20 years ago my wife told me we should support club rugby as well as international, so we set out to sample each of the (then) four London teams. At the time we were probably temperamentally closest to Saracens (bit Richard Hill fans) or Wasps... but we started with Quins as the easiest to get to, and then looked at what it would take to get from home in South West London to any of the other teams, then based in Reading, High Wycombe and Watford. And our fate was sealed.
It remains sealed, to the extent that we have had semi-serious discussions about whether we could change our loyalties if Ms Poorfour Maj achieves her ambition to play professionally but is picked up by a team other than Quins.
If you plan to be a mostly tv-based fan, then I'd suggest picking a team you can bear to watch week in week out for at least the next couple of seasons. For me, that would rule out Sale and Edinburgh. If you plan to go to games, pick the one you can get to most regularly.

Shaun, Shaun where does Jamie Dobie hail from? Which team does he play for? Who are the Now And Future Champions? Whose supporters are the wittiest? Most handsomest?
You know it makes sense.
We are Warriors, Glasgow Warriors

What Jimbo is trying to say is that you should support Edinburgh. Jamie Dobie was schooled at Merchiston after all.

After much deliberation, I have actually decided to remain neutral because that match on Friday was so entertaining as a neutral . There's far too many teams that play attractive rugby to just pick one out to support though as a Scot, I like seeing Edinburgh/Glasgow be successful :P.
I haven't even attended a rugby match yet though Murrayfield is certainly on my bucket list and hopefully that will become reality one day once I have my dream job of working in an outdoor nursery setting, it's just too hard to get down from Thurso all the way down to Edinburgh all alone etc . I know for a fact that the atmosphere and product on the park will certainly be TEN TIMES better than ICTFC where I've not been to in years (it was actually during the Robertson second spell just after relegation so likely in 2016) again due to lack of people to go with etc!

I am a Saints fan and have supported them since Rugby Union turned professional in the late 90s and we moved to the South Midlands, in the amateur days I lived in the South East and played Blackheath and supported them until marriage, kids and the like got in the way.
When I was at school, I was asked who I was going to support in the FA Cup Final, being rugby mad then, I had to ask "who is playing" I was told Sheffield Wednesday vs Everton. I have followed (not supported) Everton ever since, some 60ish years despite having absolutely no connection to them.

Sean. i have been pondering on your problem...don't overthink it. Either your heart soared when Seaman scored Glasgow's first try on Friday or it didn't. At heart it is an emotional experience.
I have been trying for years to make the Luvvies my second team, really tried. But they are godawful. I don't even get angry or disappointed when the throw away winnable games like they did against the Bulls. That's what they do and I don't care. I want both Scottish sides to win ...but I can't form an emotional bond with the Luvvies.
For a while I thought the Dragons would be my second team; real underdogs concistently fighting for a win only to lose at the death. But the Viet Gwent slipped behind the Benetton Boys. They battle week in week out, Treviso is said to be a great away day and are probably the most improved side in the league so I have a soft spot for them.
Listen to your heart and you'll know who to support. If it says Embra...see a therapist PDQ.

I don't know how I felt when Steyn scored last week as I was watching Bristol v Glos . One of these days I'll get to watch Glasgow, likely when their televised in European action.
My thoughts regarding Edinburgh were "AGAIN, how can you blow leads with idiotic errors!
Right you've nailed it, it's time to follow Ulster (I actually can because I have family in Belfast) .

The vast majority of folk follow their local team, which is as arbitrary as anything else. An accident of geography at birth. Just find a team with something you like about them, the more inconsequential and random the better, commit and double down.

That's it, go with Ulster. Mikey-D says nobody likes us so you can't be accused of following the crowd. I had the accident of birth and now live about as far from Norn Iron as possible on mainland GB. This doesn't stop me following them and getting unnecessarily annoyed all too frequently.

Surely Glasgow.....got to be the closest affiliation to you. They play better rugby than pretty much anyone on your list.
