That may well be the final, not sure who'd win though. As a Quins fan i'm backing us but that's a strong Saracens team!

Guys like:
Wallace
York
Smith
Chisholm
Williams

can all expect to feature in the first 15 this season because of the WC and injuries, hopefully they'll put on a big performance tonight to show O'Shea they're capable.

Thats my thoughts Yappy - Saw the highlights of the early competition stages, Sarries do look well drilled - I only recognise a few of those fezz heads names so presumably they have a lot of academy chaps too.

James Short is looking like he is carrying last seasons form over to this year - can only be good.

Lindsey Hague im sure has said that he wants to focus on 15's this season so that can only be good for quins - I see him in a Tom williams (utility) sort of role.

Simply from a Sarries perspective:

Didn't go too well for the Sarries guy in the end.

Cruised through the pool stages. 38-7 win vs Bath in the first match and comfortably beating Sale 21-5.

Lost to a Newcastle side in the final that favoured building up the phases and possession than pace. 31-21.

The final was the most exciting game of the night. Saracen's style and pace vs Newcastle's powerful and more steady approach. In the end Newcastle deserved to win, they were more patient and had more of the ball, handled well and retained possession well.

The Newcastle side certainly showed substance beats style.

Positives at least = Saracens do have exciting players with pace. Marcus Watson,Jean Baptiste Bruzullier and James Short were the standout players for Saracens.

Wow, Falcons won!

I was there but had to leave early (half time of the quins-falcons) for family reasons.

I was really dissapointed that Quins lost that game - but, like im sure others thought that Sarries had the final in the bag - well done Falcons.

It looks like James Short is going to carry on from where he left off in the 15's last season.

Exciting prospect.

If we played like we did in the pool stages we would have won in my opinion. Though that's the case,Newcastle were the well deserved winners.

Their tactics and game plan was spot on. Ours wasn't. Silly handling errors at key times didn't help either.

In the end I just felt Newcastle wanted it more. A cliche I know but they were more of a team. Saracens were more about excellent individuals in my opinion.

Yup James Short is quality. So much pace and power.

Good for Newcastle. And some real hope for the future of the club. Not from outside signings, but growth from within. Exactly how they should be rebuiling themselves. And that is good for Rugby in England because England need good clubs at the top level representing the North.

You should probably replace the word 'Newcastle' with 'Leicester'. Erm

Without being daft, it is always good to win something, although make no bones about it, this is going to be a hard season for the Falcons.

Mind you, relativley few of the guys on the 7's team have come through the Falcons academy (Will Welch, Joel Hodgson, Alex Tait and Mark Wilson).

Joel Hodgson is a good prospect, I'd expect to see him competing with George Ford in next summers U20 JWC (and having the same doubts about his size being discussed). Will Welch should make an impact this year, as we are a bit short on back rowers. Same with Wilson who was awared a three year contract earlier this year I think.

Newcastle

1 Redford Pennycook
2 Will Welch
3 Aaron Myers
4 Joel Hodgson
5 Luke Fielden
6 Alex Tait
7 Ryan Shortland
8 Richard Mayhew
9 Mark Wilson
10 Will Chudley
11Rikki Sheriffe
12 Chris Pilgrim

Course you are yappysnap. Was a bit annoyed at the Quins fans for being so anti-Saracens. Bit disappointed by them.

I have always seen Quins as my 2nd team in the AP. There were even boos when Saracens were mentioned.

Disgraceful to be honest.
