US PGA Competition - Final Leaderboard

For the second year running (and just like in real life) the US PGA Competition went into a 'play off'. Faldono1fan, Maverick (both had Toms, Scott & Westwood) and Lairdy (Karlsson, Scott & Donald) all finished on 12 under par. The winner of the play off was determined by each entrants next highest finisher out of their six selections and it worked out like this:-

4th selections:-
Faldono1fan & Maverick both had Luke Donald who finished on 277 while Lairdy's fourth highest selections was Rickie Fowler who scored 286. That left Faldono1fan & Maverick still tying.

5th selections:-
Faldono1fan and Maverick finally had different selections at this stage however their respective fifth selections, Watney and Stricker, both finished in joint 12th on 279 so still no separating these two.

6th selections:-
So this competition went right down to the wire and finally we had a winner. Faldono1fan's final selection of Fowler (joint 51st) beat Maverick's final selection of Jason Day who failed to make the cut and finished joint 76th.

So well done to Faldono1fan on winning the last 'major' of the year.

Note for MustPuttBetter - I had a look at The Masters comp from April and couldn't see your name in that competition.

Whilst my performance still sucks I think I've made the cut as Mickelson, Toms and Yang are all around for the weekend. Though I'm so far off the lead it's probably not even worth it.

Think I should be on 418 (-2) sporty, best 3 players scott (138), westwood (139) aand either donald or watney (141). Makes a big difference when the field is so bunched!

In a post tournament interview with 606v2, Fannyno1fan says: "Honestly that's the best week of my life. It's the best win I've ever had."

Congrats to all 3: Faldo1 for winning the tiebreaker with Mav, and Lairdy. Maybe a 3 hole playoff on a real course if you ever meet up?

As for my own performance, average's the word...
On the plus side, had all my 6 lads making the cut and I'm certainly leading
the unofficial competition of 'most players with wrist injuries' (Rors and Franny)...
