Tyson Fury - An opportunity missed? Empty Tyson Fury - An opportunity missed?

Post by Union Cane Mon 05 Sep 2011, 3:38 pm

After his highly entertaining victory over Dereck Chisora, and what appears to be an ongoing relationship with Channel 5 whereby he fights as part of the build up to big PPV events on Primetime, has Tyson Fury missed a trick?

Mike Perez was rumoured, which would have been a decent, and if truth be told a dangerous tear up, but for one reason or another it didn't come to fruition.

Negotiations with unbeaten Norwegian prospect Lief Larsen reached an advanced stage, but that fight has also fallen through.

Now Tyson has lined up American punch-bag Nicolai Firtha (20-8) for his bout in Belfast on the 17th.

Anyone else getting a sense of disappointment and anti-climax at this news?

It's a difficult one. He is being avoiding by most domestic fighters so he has no real option on than to fight unknown boxers. He is not yet ready for a title so fighting at that level is not a sensible option. I would maybe like to see he take on a recent Klit opponant, maybe Peters?

No, Fury is young and biding his time. He's got years and years on his side and so can fight a glut of buy one get two free type boxers for a good while yet. OK

Said it some time ago and may get mocked for this but I'd have gone for Audley, he apparently wanted the fight and for all his myriad faults he brings name recognition to the table and whatever else his faults he can't half sell a fight.

For my sanity i don't wish to see him promoting a fight

If i hear how he's still on his world champ mission it may become too much for me to handle.

Well Mrs Cane found it entertaining, and I value her opinion much more than yours.

You're right.

As usual.

In reality I'm a lonely hermit, with only my prediction competitions to keep me warm at night.

I don't believe you're a hermit Union....I just don't think you're very mature.....and that's ok.

And the reverse linear surely. I suspect you may have found that special lady, the reverse linear threads have dried up slightly of late.
