Rock or Austin?

Let's face it, as brillaint as they both were, we all had a favourite out of them.
So were you a fan of the people's cahmp or the texas rattlesnake? Why?

I'm for Austin. The level of popularity he attained I don't think will ever be amtched, think he was better than the rock in the ring also (definitely pre neck injury). I was also convinced when I was 12 that he was the baddest man on earth.

The Rock for me, he was the one on top when I started watching wrestling, he was charasmatic and owned the screen anytime he was on it. He also sold the stunner better than anybody

Having just moved to Texas, there can be only one choice sadly! Otherwise, it'd have been the Rock by the narrowest of margins.

Rock- Austin comes back too often and is always very predictable. Like with this upcoming wrestlemania he always ends up as a guest referee. Conversely, the Rock is not so predictable and far more gripping.

i picked austin. i always have prefered him for some reason

I always preferred Rocky, I thought Austin was brilliant up until he won the Title, after he won the title he lost his appeal, Rock never lost his appeal to me

Rock for me. I began watching wrestling at the 2000 Royal Rumble so Rocky was the top face at the time and I suspect I never saw the best of Austin from 97 - 99. Would that be true?

I think theres no doubt about that josh.. i started watching late 98 or early 99, so probably missed his best and so it was the rock who i cheered for. But i remember being excited about his return at backlash the following year. i always wanted to see rock and austin as a team, and despite having common enemies they were never seen forming an alliance.

i was pre-teen in this era so couldnt appreciate the heels, but watching back austin had a real mean streak in him in 2001/02

JamesLincs - Austin always had a real mean streak in him, though the paranoia certainly built up. Either he was a really good actor or he actually was paranoid about something at that time because he really did seem to have things bothering him. Was he worried about the rise of guys around him when he was off following the Rikishi hit and run?
