Imola to return to F1 ? Empty Imola to return to F1 ?

Imola, August 31, 2011 - Another milestone has been reached, and from the International Formula Imola Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in a season where there have been awards for the excellent work done by the plant Imola.

Following the inspection carried out in July by Charlie Whiting, responsible for the safety of the slopes of the FIA, the Federation International Automobile, today, sent the documentation attesting to a three-year renewal of approval of an able, valid until the end of 2014.

Under this renewal, which provides for the possibility of organizing a Grand Prix Formula 1 at Imola's Autodromo confirms once more the top of international motorsport, ready to face new challenges as traditional plant Imola.

Walter Sciacca (CEO and Director of Circuit): "We are proud to reach the objective, unambiguous signal that we are working in the right direction. The inspection visit in July, Charlie Whiting has decided not to require significant interventions at the level of security, thus in effect confirming the high quality standards that comes with the system. With the renewal of approval we are in a position to once again host a Grand Prix Formula 1, in full respect of all the parameters required by the International Automobile Federation. And 'our spirit never limit ourselves, so if you experience the right economic conditions, we are ready to face any challenge. On the other hand, as demonstrated by the words spoken in favor of Imola by a great champion like Jenson Button, who once again thank you, our track remains one of the most technical tracks and spectacular win at Imola, and has always been considered as a kind of degree in the career of a pilot. This year we hosted all the major motor racing except Formula 1, but the remarkable success has meant that Imola is definitely back in that small number of circuits that have done and continue to make history in international motoring " .

Imola to return to F1 ? Empty Re: Imola to return to F1 ?

Bonjourno!

Hopefully this track can return to the calendar as opposed to one of the 'cash cow' tracks like Bahrain. This is one of the true great tracks that have a rich tapestry of history running through the very foundations of its tarmac. Some good, some bad but an iconic track all the same.

Forza Imola!

Have to agree with Ciabatta (god twice in one lifetime 🤦 )

I always love Imola and its good to see it returning, hopefully will replace somewhere like Bahrain.

But, i thought it got the chop due to its being a little narrow for an F1 track, not that id say was the case. Yet it doesnt appear to be having any work done on it.

Speaking of which, just read this -

Iran to build Formula One track near Tehran
Iran has decided to build a track for Formula One in Parand City, 35km south of Tehran.

Apex Circuit Design has been given contract for this project, which is the first of its type in Iran.

Company director Martin Baerschmidt hailed the design, saying, “We were really surprised after seeing the landscape. Planning and construction would follow all Formula One standards. We want to improve the level of immunity and excitement as well.”

The five-kilometer-track will be inaugurated within six months.

The first phase of the project would cost $30 million and the second phase is expected to cost $55 million.

Alireza Sabbagh, executive manager of the project, is optimistic about the undertaking. “Iran has so many young people and there is an increasing tendency for them to drive. Formula One has a great future in the Asian country,” Sabbagh said.

Another country F1 shouldn't touch with a barge pole until they clean up their act with respect to human rights and democracy IMO.

Not that that'll put off Uncle Bernie. 🤦
