BBC Sport Rugby - A Tribute To The Incisive Analysis Of Our Former Host
Pool D rivals South Africa and Wales must contend with the Wellington wind when they meet. On average, Wellington experiences wind gusts of more than 37mph on 173 days every year and has a mean annual wind speed of 14 mph.

Presently its 11 deg with a northerly wind of 22km here in Wellington though where I am it looks still outside.
Tomorrows forecast is Rain developing with Northerlies. Max 13, min 8 which at match time will more likely be the min.
Not the best but not too bad. Two weeks ago the entire city was caked with snow- something we've not had for 80 odd years. It was surreal for us who never get it. Cameras were out constantly...fickle aint we.
Though that certainly would have seized some calves!
Match of the round this one so good luck to both...

Wales have had Gatland yelling at them for 6 weeks now - they are used to a lot of wind

That information is wonderful but when are the 173 days of high wind? Also how does it compare to other areas?

The quote coms from BBC sport, former host of 606
Hes being sarcastic about the quality of the pre match report, that line really is just filler. He couldve just said "its windy there", or talked about England
