Andy Whitfield dies age 39 - RIP

Welsh born Australian actor Andy Whitfield, who was unknown when cast as the lead in Spartacus: Blood and Sand, has died this morning at the age of 39 after losing his 18 month battle with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

He was diagnosed whilst preparing to begin filming season 2 of the hit show and the shoot was put on hold. Whitfield was eventually replaced by Australian actor Liam McIntyre after his condition worsened.

He will be sadly missed.

Sad to hear had been keeping an eye on his situation for around a year now and some of the news coming out had appeared positive.

Sad loss to all especially his children.
