Djoko -the worthy champion!

A worthy, well deserved winner. Rafa was trying to win by forcing mistakes like he does against other players but it did not happen tonight. DJoko forced lots of winners and played varied tennis unlike Rafa's.

As suggested by many it was a slugfest but more clinical boxer came out triumphed.

55 winners by Djoko. Rafa got broken 11 times, first time ever in his career.
Not sure but I think Rafa has only won 4 sets against Djoko in past 10 matches and Nadal has only managed one win at the last year USO.

Agree with pretty much all of that - not sure I love him though!

Rafa will be fine, he's still got several slams left in him I'm sure. He continues on as the no.2 player by some distance.

Very happy that Novak got the US. Very worthy champion. Congrats to Socal and the temporarily absent NITB.

Thank you pomar, Novak really has showed that he can play both offensively and defensively with the best of them. He is on course to have the best year since Rod laver won the grandslam. We are watching something historic and we should enjoy it as tennis fans.
