Re: If Ali was around???
I'd guess he would be waiting for the London Olympics so wouldn't face Klitschko.

Re: If Ali was around???
Not a man of many words clearly.
I did an article about how the Klitschko's match up to the great heavies a few weeks back. The general consensus was that while Vitali coped better neither despite their size matched up that well. Especially not against Ali or Louis who both just had far to much for the brothers.
Ali's speed along with his movement and power would have terrified Wladimir into a shell he may never have returned out of. Vitali is a bit more open but he is also a bit slower and while he has a solid chin I'm not 100% sure he would go the distance with Ali who I think would land shots with relative ease.

Re: If Ali was around???
Maybe a twenty year old Ali could drop a decision to either brother at their best, as he was far from the finished article. But who would throw a novice 20 year old with the K's?
At 25, circa 1967, I think he beats both with someting to spare. Neither can set a high pace, neither has shown great movement or ability to catch up to a truly elusive and balanced fighter.
Ali's stiff and fast combos would take their toll and I wouldn't be surprised if neither went 12 rounds with him.

Mate I'm a big Klitschko fan but everyone knows Wladimir is scared of fighters with power he knows he's chinny. Ali had power, speed and movement. I stand by it Wladimir would be terrified of him. He was reluctant to let his hands go against Haye imagine what he would be like against Ali!

Yeah mate, BBC four, it's been on ages. Talking about feathered t-rexes and stuff, about the evolution of them and how they relate to modern species. Really interesting. More so than anything the OP has to offer.

I have that Atlas and Sugar book of boxing lists and Atlas rates Louis as his greatest ever heavyweight but then doesn't have him in his 10 greatest fighters of all time but has Ali at 8!

This thread reminds me of the mini-debate that has been raging in the science world. Are we regressing to an era that now rejects Enlightenment thinking?Stephen Pinker is contesting this cultural "truism" in his new book.
Joshsmith I'd like to know your views on this.

If there aren't any major objections, I'm locking this article.
Any issues with that, pm me. Although I doubt I'll receive any complaints.
For the record - It is my opinion that we aren't living through an enlightenment - rather an era in love with the rejection of authority.
