Fav WTA Player.
In line with trying to add just a little more Wta related content here, just wanted to find out your favourite players on the women's tour. In what I considered a golden period for women's tennis in the late 90's to mid 00's, mine would be Henin and Hingis.
Henin for her unrivalled technique and elegance and THAT backhand. Hingis for the most outstanding tennis brain and movement and her wicked tongue.
I can't honestly say I've been a huge fan of the tour in recent years but it looks like Kvitova could be a huge favourite of man. Had immense pleasure watching her pummel Sharapova to submission at Wimbledom with hardly a sound.

My favourite player is Henin, followed by Seles. I also enjoy watching Bartoli, so much character!

Evert, Navartilova, Graf, Henin (from the past).
Currently, Williams sisters, Stosur, Li Na, Cibulkova, Hantuchova, Zvonareva, Carol Garcia, JJ, Dulko, ... (a huge list)

I think out of all the great past champions, Graf was definitely my favourite.
Currently, I love the passion of JJ, and I have enjoyed watching Li Na this year. Schiavone is always hugely enjoyable to watch. I like Dulko too laver , and Carol Garcia promised huge amounts at RG, she definitely seems to be one to watch for the future.

Agree with a lot of your list except JJ. She really is the ultimate primadonna and drama-queen without the talent to back it up.

JJ is a drama queen and primadonna, I quite agree with you mthierry - that's really why I love her, in part. She is so dramatic and watching her is a bit of an emotional roller coaster, but she is an interesting personality and as I say she takes you to the highs and down to the lows with her.
I know she is a baseline grinder in many ways, but the personality she brings to her game means that she is so much more compelling than so many of the other women.
I will generally turn on to watch JJ at the slams - I just don't tune into the women's only tournaments as a rule.

To me it looks a bit disturbing. Maybe it's just me.

Sharapova is handsome. Powerful shoulders.
So I guess she'd be the smiley on the left.

I think it means "to r&pe" but I am not sure. Perhaps the boffins can explain it.noleisthebest wrote:polished_man wrote:noleisthebest wrote:polished_man wrote:I like Sharapova

Chinr4p3 is popular in "polished_man's" house..I think it means "to r&pe" but I am not sure. Perhaps the boffins can explain it.

Re: Fav WTA Player.
Chris Evert, to men of a certain age, evokes some intense memories.
That slightly stern set to her face and regal demeanour, alongside a very attractive figure, had a big impact on a teenage bogbrush.
I saw her on TV a year or so ago, I think maybe with her 14th or 15th husband and despite the passing of so many years (she's approaching 60!) she still has it.
