Absolutely Hodgey. People tend to forget (perhaps conveniently) that racism, and all other -isms, are two way streets. There is no intention of racism on the part of the awards ceremony organisers whatsoever of course, merely celebrating the contribution to football by players of afro-carribbean origin but I did find it a little ironic nonetheless.

Les Ferdinand is right in a lot he says but one of the biggest problems we have today is that non ethnic people are terrified of talking about or addressing any racism issues in case they somehow get branded a racist themselves even though they may not be and have no such intention at all. There is often such hysteria surrounding these cases, truth and reality get lost.

Hence the reluctance of Chelsea and QPR players to get involved here.

Exactly. If ethnicities celebrate their heritage they are commended, if we celebrate ours we are condemned.

My main thought was the backup isnt good enough Guv, particularly defensively. That 2nd half defence was poor and had Delap out of position at LB, could see Liverpool scoring at least 2 in the 2nd half..

Credit to Arsenal, they were excellent going forward. Really thought when we got it to 3-3 we were the ones going to win but the pass to JT was awful, he fell over and the rest is history.

My biggest worry Guv would be Cech. Has a GK ever been beaten at the near post so many times in 1 game?

It wasn't one of his better matches for sure.

I would ditch Bosingwa as well. He's good going forward but a liability defensively. I would play Ivanovic at RB. Not his favoured position but I think he looks a better RB than CB! We haven't yet replaced Carvalho. He read the game well and covered for JT. Alex and Ivanovic don't have the pace to do that. Luiz is potentially a top player but needs to improve his decision making. He does cost us goals at times.

However, for me, the one position we desperately need to sort out is DM. Time and time again the back four are exposed. A top class strikeforce like Arsenal have will make hay (and did). If we're going to carry on playing 4-3-3 with two attacking central MF then we need a top class DM. We don't have one. Romeu looks to be a prospect but not sure he could play the whole season. We miss Essien.

i was suprised AvB brought in Meireles as opposed to a more defensive minded player. Every man and his dog knows Mikel isn't good enough for Chelsea. And Essien's form has been ropey for 18 minths. But of course you would miss the dynamism he brings if nothing else.

Has Luiz ever been tested at DM?

Luiz has played there for Benfica. It is an option.
