Less moderation...however unruly posters tended to stay on longer......Had a mechanism for editing your own threads which came in handy...Took too long to get a response from moderators when someone was deliberately plagiarising your superb threads...

Not sure the moderators were knowledgeable enough......Layout was easy though..

Moderators can jump in hastily.......Idiots get expelled quicker though.....Moderators have a good knowledge of the sport.....Quicker to respond to your questions.......Tends to forcefeed advertising to you at times.....Layout probably not as precise as the old 606.....

Much better than the Eastside layout......

606v2 is better for me,just pretty much everything is better in my opinion. Especially seeing as we have mods that will do stuff for us nowadays and also push for Q&A's with fighters and the like.

i prefer this - bit 606 was far better for new topics and mass discussion.
this place can grind to a halt sometimes with very few new topics.

we need another 100 members at least.

At times, it can slow down immensely, but generally speaking it's pretty lively in my opinion, and the general boxing knowledge is extremely high.

Getting a few twerps intent on spoiling it on here though..

Sorry mate. I do like some of your topics though.

As the 606v2 cornerman, having to put up with you lot sometimes, I would throw in the towel half way through the 1st round.

If it makes you feel any better personally Adam between this and the old 606 there is no contest this is much better, might not always agree with the moderation on here but at least if you do delete posts you 9 times out of 10 explain why. The moderation on the BBC was a joke at times, would delete anything suggesting Toney was a drugs cheat despite it being a fact, likewise mention of Tyson being a naughty person was prone to disappear despite him being convicted in a court of law, used to be beyond annoying.

The BBc were careful to avoid anything that could be seen as slanderous.......and rightly so....

I prefered the old 606 but hats off to the people who made 606v2. Quite amusing how you lot managed to create this nice forum and the corporate monster BBC reckons they couldn't afford to keep 606 running. Also agree with Trussman (the pain is beyond anything I ever imagined) that it's a far better and user friendly layout than Eastside. On saying that I still do like the avatars and foul language that ESB has at times.

Scotty..you can be hurtful at times.

I just find at places like ESB there's too many people calling you a punk kid or an effing this and that for no good reason. Not a fan of it myself.

V2 is so much better than the old 606.

Firstly there's good interaction between the mods and posters, reasonable discussion is given to why things may be edited or erased instead of the blanket cencorship you used to get on the old board.

The format is more user friendly, such as hot topics staying at the top of the board and no infuriating 2 minute rule between posts.

We get the chance to interact with stars of the sport through the Q&A's.

The more logical, hands on approach of the mods weeds out the long term wums. If the old 606 was still going D4 would still be manipulating every article into a pro manny anti floyd meltdown whilst carefully not breaking any house rules. Here the mods could see him for what he was and when that subject was reduced to one umbrella thread to countenance him he slung his hook and has not been missed.

Only drawback is that a few good posters from the old board couldn't make it because they can't access the site from work (whereas most BBC sites are fine). Poundforpoundno1, old stone hands and IJK are a few that would have been welcome additions here. But no D4 or fightnews more than compensates for their loss.
