I'll go back as far as when I began watching. There are some parts in the middle where I am a bit sketchy (no sky ) but feel free to share yours.

1992 - Randy Savage
1993 - Bret Hart
1994 - Bret Hart
1995 - Diesel
1996 - Shawn Michaels / Stone Cold
1997 - Bret Hart / Stone Cold. Both of these years too close to call.
1998 - Stone Cold
1999 - Vince McMahon. Controversial as he is not a wrestler, but Mr McMahon was born this year.
2000 - Triple H
2001 - Stone Cold
2002 - The Rock
2003 - The Rock
2004 - Chris Benoit
2005 - Batista

I'd say Hogan's year was 87 and Savages year was definitely 88

I was ummming and ahhhhhing on that one gaff. I think Andre being heel and breaking out from the 'cuddly' giant character was massive.

Yeah it was to be fair, pity he just hardly did anything, although in those days you could get awat with that, I think 88 was definitely be Saveage's though

I think you have convinced me on the 1988 argument. I think I must have given to Hogan as a token gesture for missing out on 1987.

Yeah I think that's why he's my 87 to be honest, Savage was awesome in 86, he really was and I can't see past Piper for 85 so apart from 84 I kinda felt obliged to give him a second year

Gaffer's list is bang on apart from 2010 which I'd give to Kane. Holding the WHC from MITB all the way to TLC and his promo work with Taker was top drawer.

If HBK got your vote purely for Jan to April gaffer, did you not consider Batista who was also superb in that period?

I did consider Batista although I didn't really rate his run until the Elimination Chamber and I hated how he was booked after Mania so in essence for me he only really had those five weeks from EC to Mania, Kane was another I considered but I just couldn't pick his run at the top over Shawns, that was the story that made Mania for me

it would be very interesting to see what this list would look like from Vince McMahon's point of view.

I didn't rate it all to be honest, I felt Edge was rushed back way to early in order to give us a shock return and also to set up the Mania match with Jericho but he was still clearly unfit, he was slow and flabby, I also didn't like their Mania match and felt their cage re-match lost all momentum when they took the title out of the equation, the only thing I liked about their feud was Jericho won the title match at Mania

Also he was stuck in limbo for most of the year, he came back in an awkward face turn, then he got drafted to RAW and turned heel on Orton, then he was expected to play face against Nexus then turned face on a laptop before being hotshotted back to SD where he finally looked fit and healthy in his feud with Kane at the end of the year

Gaffer list is pretty full proof although are we completely dismissing other organisations?

If not Flair must have a case in the mid 80's

I'd argue Bret Hart had a better 92 than Flair. Carried Piper to his best match ever at Mania 8, the classic at Wembley with Bulldog & ended the year dethroning Flair as world champ

Hogan has got to have a shout at 96.

Mankind in 98? I quit at rr and hiac kotr that year if I'm not mistaken?

Bret is a good shout for 92, it came down to a straight choice between him and Flair for me but with his two matches with Savage, his matches with Piper and Hart and his Royal Rumble performance, not to mention he was only the second guy to win two WWF World Titles inside a calander year and his promos, particularly in tne lead up to SummerSlam whenhe didn't even have a match and his association with Heenan, Perfect and Razor swayed it for me.

Your looking good to challenge for a UEFA spot. Ba has given you a cutting edge, Ben Arfa looks a class act. Pardew is doing a bloody great job considering Ashley went for the cheap option again

When Pardew was appointed i was one of many who wasnt at all happy but i cant be anything but impressed with him. He's ice cool, says all the right things and has created a team spirit. Ba on a free is a steal and Cabaye looks decent in the middle but our back 5 have been immense. Coloccini is class and Tim Krul will be Dutch No1. I'm still being realistic in thinking a top half finish would be a great achievement for us, but if we bolster the squad in January then who knows.
