What's going on with Barry Cowans pointy hands?

It's like he's auditioning for the Penguin.

I like big Barry but someone needs to get him back in the chair.

Although the side "weather presenting" view is arguably better than his front-on "Wallace and Grommit" look.

It is car crash tv. Everything just looks wrong, he's too close to the screen, the angle is strange and he looks nervous doing it, as if he can sense the mirth of the viewer at home. I am becoming strangely fascinated by it though, and might even miss it when they ditch it.
