Bad Choice!

Just read this on the interweb:
So what other "bad choices" are you aware of in boxing?
Talk about having a death wish — TMZ has learned, some dumbass broke into Mike Tyson’s Vegas hotel room this weekend while the ex-boxing champ was sleeping … but lucky for the intruder, dude escaped before Tyson could break his face in.
Sources tell TMZ, Mike was staying at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Saturday night — where he and his fam crashed after attending Stevie Wonder’s New Year’s Eve concert.
We’re told Tyson was sleeping like a baby … when all of a sudden, he awoke to rustling sounds and saw a flashlight. But by the time Iron Mike realized what was happening, the intruder had already run out of the room.
According to sources, security at the hotel was called and they are currently investigating the situation. Nothing was reported stolen from the room.
A rep for the hotel tells TMZ, “We have received a report of an incident that is currently under investigation. As always, guest safety is of the utmost importance.”
So what other "bad choices" are you aware of in boxing?

another tyson one - it was a mistake for bruno to face tyson straight after he won. he should have milked it with a non mandatory defence. (assuming tyson was mandatory).

bad choice for calzaghe to remain happy with the wbo run of defences. if he stepped up in class earlier, while he was in his prime, he would have been amazing.

I believe Bruno only got his (very much undeserved) shot at McCall's WBC title on the basis that he signed for a guaranteed defence against Tyson straight after, so sadly for Frank milking the title before strolling in to retirement wasn't an option, though it would have been nice!
Joe Frazier turned down a $4million payday against Ali to take on the little-known and unfancied Foreman for $800,000 instead - didn't work out too well!

I remember a story from Hungary. An 18 year old youf' littered right next to a bin. An old man of 80 requested the young chap retrieve his litter and put it in the bin.
Not surprisingly the young fellow refused and he promptly started verbally abusing the old guy.
Upon recieving this unwarranted abuse, the old guy sqaured up to the young guy, picked him up and put him in the bin. What the youth did not realise if that the old fella was an ex judo champ who had something like 6 dans.
Great story.

A few years back some idiot snatched a member of the US olympic team's handbag at the airport. I say idiot because she was stood next to Maurice Greene, at the time world's fastest man and quite a unit, needless to say he caught up in seconds flattened the guy and sat on him till the police arrived!

Monzon seems to be given a pass these days and only his boxing is talked about, i don't think this will ever happen with Valero.

A good choice would be a friend of mine was at an old nightclub thats shut down now in Belfast, but Eamonn Magee (first to floor Hatton & McCloskeys cornerman) was renouned for trying to start fights with people. He mouthed off to my mate who from ecstasy consumtion weighed about 8 and a half stone, he chinned Magee and had him sleeping for about 25 minutes.
He deserved it though.

What about the lout who was citizens arrested by the Lord of Brighton (Chris Eubank).
The biggest one which I was surprised hasn't been mentioned... De La Hoya + Strippers x Cocaine = Funtimes in fishnets.

Someone in Newcastle offered a bouner in Newcastle a fight, Sam Jacks ws the bar.

Apparently in the biography "Hands of Stone" it tells a story of a 15 year old, 105lb Duran walking a girl home from a dance when five grown men attacked them. Naturally he promptly knocked out all five suffering only a broken hand in return and was arrested.
