Niko's Fast & Furious League: Domestic Cup Season 2

Cup Match Dates:

The cup competition will begin again in the week between the week 6 and week 7 league games. Each round will be a one off game, meaning three rounds:

Week 3/4 = Prelim
Week 6/7 = Semi finals
Week 9/10 = Final

The draws will be same as before, and the rules will also be the same.

Cup Rules:

You pick only a starting XI, no subs.
You post brief tactics, no more than 10 lines of bullet points
Your team must contain 3 players who are U21 (born on or after 01/10/1991)
Your team must contain 3 domestic players (eligible for the national team in the country you team is based e.g. Lyon = 3 x French players)
The domestic and U21s can be the same players.

The injuries drawn at the start of the week DO NOT count for the domestic cup game only the league game (i.e. those players can play in the cup, not in the league).
You will then be drawn one additional injury from your cup starting XI. This player cannot play in the league game following. This extra injury drawn cannot be one of players already drawn out at the start of the week.

1. Akinfeev stay strong, confident with high balls. Off line early close down strikers and reduce angles for them. Get quick play going and release to wingers early.

2. Fullbacks stay back and defend line until we see how they line up, stay strong and tackle fairly, only go to ground when confident in winning ball. Attack when possible and support wingers.

3. Rami and Dunk stay tight, Rami use experience to mark striker out of the game, Dunk watch open spaces and intercept anything coming through.

4 Defenders clear the lines, no nonsense. Stand up to your men and keep the line as tight as possible.

5. Matip man mark the AM/SS. Keep him quiet and dont allow him to dictate play. This is your main focus today.

6. Vidal is given more freedom to venture forward and support, pick ball up from behid and play it out wide or to Oscar/Kerzhakov. When they have, sit alongside Matip and help break up play and get stuck in.

7. Walcott use your pace to get into the area, play the ball passed the FB and drive on, look for suport inside and play nice opne two to get int dangerous areas.

8 Gaitan has the skill to take his man on out wide or inside, get the crosses into the danger areas and always follow the ball in

9. Oscar will drive forward and always look for the ball, he has pace and skill so will move into positions to threaten there defense, will look to support the wingers and feed the ball to them and Kerzhakov up front. Oscar, Gaitan and Walcott will get back and help defensively and stop there men getting too far forward.

10. kerzhakov, sit up front stay on toes and look to create chances for himself and others, shoot when can and will get plenty support from those around him

1) Keep the ball then they can't score
2) Full backs only go forward to support the wingers
3) Defence stay deep to stop pacy players getting in
4) Modric and Henderson control the midfield don't be more then 8 yards away from each other so have an out ball if under pressure
5) Oxlade Chamberlain and Cazorla to take of their full backs
6) Remember to track back when ball is lost
7) Suarez to drop into the hole
8) Full backs to stick tight to the wingers so can't turn and run off
9) Afobe to run in behind and bully the defence with your physical presence
10) Don't be afraid to tackle and shoot from distance

1) We will today move to play a 4-4-2 formation, we will look to press quickly and use the wings as our main area of attack.
2) Goalie - Command the area, catch crosses, release the ball to the full backs
3) centre backs - 2 strikers, both mark, one striker Sorenson marks, sakho sweeps. Sakho you are defensive leader. stay on feet, show strikers onto bad feet
4) Full Backs - Defence is number one priority, show wingers to bad feet, dont dive in, block crosses, when the opportunity arises get forward and help the winger using overlaps
5) Sandro - you sit and protect the defence, playing simple passes out.
6) courgnet - you are box to box midfielder, help out Diarra at all times and attack when opportunity arises looking to get the ball out wide, get into box with late runs for knock downs and rebounds
7) Wingers - you will fill in to help the fullbacks when we are defending, use the overlapping runs of the fullback and work to gethor to get crosses in, low drilled crosses with the occasional high ball.
8) Strikers, de jong you drop, Defoe on the shoulder, make sure you differ runs and look to get on end of crosses, press the defenders for mistakes
9) As a team we will play a pressing game, hunting in packs
