Having indicated that it would be a young squad and that senior players wouldn't be picked im a little disappointed and i really dont understand why Rooney has been picked we should be looking for strikers for the opening 2 euro championship games which Rooney is banned for .

I wouldn't bring anyone else in go with who as been selected already , like has been said its a friendly that doesnt meen anything so why bother bringing in players on a days notice

Gerrard definately couldn't get in their midfield. Cole has been in poor form but Richards stands a chance.

In the world cup final they played 1-up front, so Rooney probably wouldn't get in either.

Gerrard is better than any of there midfielders besides Sneijder, and he was better than him in his prime. Cole is good enough, as is Richards, and Rooney is better than RVP, he has done it a lot more consistently for a lot longer, RVP is world class, but not as good as Rooney imo. And Hart is arguably the best keeper in the world.

people look at the dutch team thinking everything is greener. Yep good technical side, but there are not perfect and england can win this- we have the ability to score goals and defend against them. Simple yes but it is that simple. Our players play amongst these sort of players in the dutch team week in week out , they will not be schooled , i predict an england win! 3-1 or 3-0. These matches are meaningless and the result even more so. All the players will have been given instructions by their club managers to take it easy and not get injured for important games ahead. If one of these teams win 5-0 it won't mean a thing if they meet again in the summer.

i wouldnt say they are meaningless- what happens before these matches is that all the top names get oddly injured before hand! funnily enough its happened again- but its a good look at the fringe players who are more inclined to fight for a place.

I am not a football fan at all but i really hope England crush Holland tonight. The Dutch are so arrogant and are talking about an easy 5-0 win at least. All i hear on the radio here is how England are poor, JT is distgusting and that England are not even remotely in the same league as them.

I live here and love the Dutch but they have gone way OTT. Please win England.

England should be beating nearly men like these anyway, if you can't beat Holland you WON'T win the Euro's in my eyes. Or even challenge for them, especially after beating the best Spain side available with a weakened, weakened side out like we did.

The funniest was actually a few months back when they were going to 'Smash' Germany as they were also not in the same league as them. The were promptly beaten 3-0.

What a turn around in Parkers career he has been in great form for the past couple of seasons yet could not cement his place in Capello's side now he will lead out his country .

The Dutch are saying RVP may not play tonight , not heard how true that is ?

I suppose if england win, the game will just be a friendly, if holland win they can justify what they have said!

England are quite a good team lets be honest- we dont get hammered often, big asks by the media, even if they are the better overall side!

The english media can be bad- but not to that extent- its like us playing a team ranked a couple below us( in this case brazil) and saying we will beat them 5 nil- lol!!

obviously england would expect to lose against brazil- however i garantee there media wouldnt be foolish enough to suggest they would beat us by loads, i wouldnt expect the german or the spanish to do that either!

i know that spain have the most awfull record at friendlies, so they never would, but i think they have abit more respect for our players anyway!

I'm sure very very few in the Dutch media believe they will put 5 past England, you always get ott patriotic muppets and there's plenty from England as well who predict silly score lines, madness to brand the Dutch ignorant when it's down to a select few. You had plenty moronic pre world cup dillusion from the likes of Ian Wright saying Rooney was the best player in the world only to be one of the worst players in the tournament. The thing with Holland though they can score plenty of goals when there on their game, even against the top sides.

Having said all that i think it will be low scoring, something like 1-0 Holland.

On last nights performance i would change my mind and say Parker and maybe Richards could make Hollands side as i wasn't overly impressed with De jong and Boulahrouz

He has been off form for the past season and a half, Baines has been the best left back in England, English or not.

Van der Wiel is their first choice right back to be fair.
