For a minute then I thought he's back then he did something stupid will he ever get back to his best and will he have to leave Glasgow to achieve this?

No, yes. Tautological, but in some ways true. Has to leave Glasgow to rediscover his game. Not sure he will ever be back to his best though.

This ref is trying so hard not to be biased, he's being biased.

Yeah but if you watched him running with the ball he was always bashing the first man out of the way

On top form who's better Denton or Beattie?

Re: Johnnie Beattie
Difficult to answer since it's so long since I saw Beattie on form. Denton looks very good though, keeps it up chance at a Lions spot.

Re: Johnnie Beattie
Yeah, difficult question, as we haven't seen Denton at his best in an international jersey - he's good, but he can certainly be better.
On that basis, I'd go with 2010 Beattie over 2012 Denton, but who's to say what 2013 Denton could be doing?

Re: Johnnie Beattie
Beattie is on his way out, as is Barclay I suspect. Beattie needs to find his passion for the game again. A move to France might do him good. But who would take him?

He just looks lost - would love it if he went to the Chiefs, think he would be a great signing

Re: Johnnie Beattie
Do you mean out of Glasgow or pro rugby they are only around 26 so could easily make 2015, imagine if we had the luxury of Brown, Barclay, Beattie, Rennie and Denton on form...
Barclay needs a club that supports individualism and an expansive style of rugby such as Quins, I thought he looked good tonight while he was on just momentary lapses in concentration cost him. Glasgow play a tight style Beattie would be better suited to Edinburgh as for Barclay, I thought he played well and he's gonna have his work cut out getting back in the team though due to Fusaro,
I expect they've large wages and aren't providing value for money ATM.

Re: Johnnie Beattie
Exactly what did Beattie do wrong ? Even Jonathan Davies said it was no penalty, no yellow card and was a perfectly fair and good tackle FFS. The referee was abysmal throughout and was doing his level best to allow Ospreys to steal the game from Glasgow. Why was Al Kellock carded ? If it was for grappling an opponent then why was the opponent also not carded? Ditch this referee SRU - a total incompetent. Anyone else see the letter in The Herald through the week about the standard of refereeing in the professional era - hit the nail right on the head i.e. it is not good enough

Re: Johnnie Beattie
Kellock's was a harsh but fair decision - you can't run 20yds to enter a bout of handbags and not expect to get pinged. Beattie's tackle looked fine, but Paterson had totally lost the plot by then21st Century Schizoid Man wrote:Exactly what did Beattie do wrong ? We'd take him, but our back row is pretty good atm. We could always do with class like Barclay and Beattie but they would have to share duties. Sale would be a good call, methinks

Re: Johnnie Beattie
Yeah, but on form he is better than Easter and seems to fit the quins "give-it-a-go" style of play

True but as an English Quins fan I'd really like Guest to get Easter's starting spot!

Ah, but as a Scottish quins fan I'd be quite happy if he joined it would also give Wilson time at Glasgow!
