Only one week remains for supporters to vote for the inaugural LV= Breakthrough Player Award winner, with the voting coming to a close at midnight on Sunday March 11.
The LV= Cup is credited for playing a crucial role in the development of elite players and the introduction of the LV= Breakthrough Player Award aims to recognise and celebrate this talent.
The six finalists were announced on February 6th after being chosen from a shortlist of 20 by a panel of rugby experts: Martin Bayfield (ITV), Gwyn Jones (S4C), Ieuan Evans (Sky) and Gavin Mairs (Telegraph).
The winner of the award will receive a Tag-Heuer watch plus £1000 donated to the local grassroots club of their choice, and of course, the LV= Breakthrough Player trophy.
Voting numbers for the LV= Breakthrough Player Award have exceeded 2,500, but it remains a close fought battle between the six finalists.
To vote for your LV= Breakthrough Player Award, head to www.lv.co.uk/rugby
The winner of the award, which is designed to recognise a young player who has stood out in the 2011-12 competition, will be announced on Tuesday March 13.
LV= Breakthrough Player shortlist:
George Ford (Leicester Tigers)
Jonathan Joseph (London Irish)
Jonny May (Gloucester Rugby)
Liam Williams (Scarlets)
Matthew Morgan (Ospreys)
Matt Kvesic (Worcester Warriors)

Tough one to choose. Wouldn't begrudge any of them winning it.

Re: LV= Breakthrough Player Award
To be honest they are all pretty decent players from what I have seen.
I may be slightly one-eyed here, but I do think Liam Williams is a good shout for it, as he has not only broken into the regional first team now, he has also got a toe in the door in the Welsh Squad out of his performances too.

Yeah I'd agree with that SS, getting into the international squad in his first full pro season is an amazing achievement. All very talented players mind, so it's going to be close. I voted for Sanjay yesterday

Quite surprised that Heathcote and Woodburn haven't been mentioned, both been great players for Bath in this competition and we've made it all the way to the semi

I think they may have gotten a mention when they were putting together the candidated. I think there were atleast one from each team, and two from one team in each pool. I remember that Williams and Warren were nominated from the Scarlets, but Williams was the one who went through.

I voted for Matt Kvesic. I think he is a very special player, playing in a physically tough position, think he'll be in the England squad for years to come.

+1 Can't believe Heathcote got cut, he's playing in the stead of an All Black WC winner and not good enough for the shortlist?!
Guess what they can all do with my vote?
Somersetism that is.
