Shameless appeal for sponsorship!

As many of you will know I am as one eyed as they come when talking about my beloved Gloucester. They can do no wrong in my eyes, I just need to close my eyes a lot to achieve that. Several months ago I entered a rather stupid charity event due to take place this weekend with the complete confidence that I would have to cancel due to Gloucester's appearance in the HC semi-finals. It has just come to my attention that somehow we didn't qualify which means I'm stuck partaking in the event, much to my distain!

So on a serious note, I am supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care this Saturday and taking part in their swimathon which I'm doing twice and will be swimming 10km (or 6.2 miles, 400 lengths or about 4 hours) - a rather ridiculous distance for an ex-prop! They are a fantastic charity supporting terminally ill cancer patients and their families, but their resources are stretched very thinly. They need to raise £10,000 every hour to keep going and £20 pays for an hour's care whether in a hospice or at home. Last year when I did my 10km run (I'm also an ex-prop) for the Chch earthquake a bunch of 606ers chipped in a decent amount.
