Yes, that's right - the other Brit, Jonathan Marray, will today compete in the Men's Doubles semi-final, the first Brit to reach that stage since Mark Cox in 1977.
Could he be this year's British Wimbledon champion? Got to get past the Bryans first.

Yep, probably the best doubles pairing in the history of tennis along with Woodbridge and Woodford Smile

However, anything is possible so come on Marray!

It is on BBC sport, under Alternative Streams.

It's also on 301 if you've got Freeview handy.

thanks

Manged to catch some fo this match including the end. Well done impressive result to knock out the Bryans. Interesting tiebreak at the end, 5-0 up, then back to 5-5 then made a pass (Nielsen) into the tramlines to break (mini) for 6-5 then winning volley. Bryan left the volley, perhaps more because he didn't think he could win the point from there than because he really thought it out, but it just dropped in.

Other interesting thing was that the Bryans won more points in the match, better first serve stats, better second serve stats and yet...I saw the BP stats and it was something like Bryans 0 from 8, Marray Nielsen 1 from 1. So that was obviously critical and the TBs. Just big point play.

Looks like 3 TB sets and not 1 break in any of them, plus one 6-4 set.

Marray and Nielson have played loads of TBs this Wimby - last 2 rounds before this, I think they won the first 2 sets on TBs, then lost the 3rd on a TB in both matches

Interesting that they still give these guys a best of 5. At the FO, it's best of 3 now. At WTF, they don't even get a proper 3rd.

Marray/Nielsen have to consider that this is their best chance for a big title, maybe only one. Marray is not a big time player at all, this is the tournament of his career.

I found on his wikipedia page that Marray is ranked 74 in doubles (prior to Wimbledon). That tells you what you need to know. R3 previous best at a slam both in singles and doubles. Amazing to see that both Nielsen and Marray are only challenger level players, even in doubles. Today must be the result of his career. What a story so far.

Think they're just two really evenly matched pairs.

Matters plenty to Marray and to his bank manager (same applies for Nielsen) - journeyman pros have the fortnight of their careers and win £120K each, plus boosting their rankings to the point where they should get direct invites to top level events, boosting their earning potentials for the next year. These are the sorts of player where the money they make from one or two good performances a year pays for them to stay as professional players. Not like Federer and Murray, who wouldn't notice if their winnings went into their bank account or not.

A fantastic story, and Marray in particular played great in the final and showed that honesty doesn't have to cost you (calling his own net touch).
