Break-out players Empty Break-out players

Post by AdieSWA Tue 12 Apr 2011, 2:00 pm

Hi guys,

my first post on here but used to be Adie_SWA on NFLOOH and 606, those who vaguely remember me will know I am a Pats fan (cue the boos) because they won the first game I ever watched, anyways this part should be in the intros section but to my question...each year there are players that come from nowheresville to having a great year (Peyton Hillis anyone) and was wondering which players do you think will have a break out this year should the season go on?

I cant think of anyone as having a mental block so would love your opinions on this.

Thanks

Desmond Briscoe of the Bucs looks to be a great acquisition.

Matt Stafford should break out this year if he stays healthy. If he doesn't, he'll be regarded as a bust.

Jimmy Graham of the Saints should be a beast this year. He's tall, fast, powerful and has good hands.

yeah must admit I really like Stafford, just seems that injuries got the better of him so far

Graham does have all the tools, I just hope the Pats TEs Gronkowski and Hernandez can continue to improve on the very good start to their NFL careers last year

Prawns suggestion of graham is a good one.

Tramon Williams could prove to be one of the premier corners in the game.

William Moore could have a great year. He is a hard hitting young safety

FInley is more suited to this thread than mine. 300 yards in 3.5 games.

Best could also have a great year for the Lions

And last eric Berry if his rookie season is not classed as a breakout season as he was brillant.

Didn't like him going in first round and still not sold on him

Jerome Simpson had some big games at the end of the year and i'm hoping that continues. A lot will depend on who's throwing the ball, who we draft and ii Chad is still in stripes.

Ziggy Hood played well when Smith went down and with Pitts ageing D-line i cna see him having a bigger impact.

I think Michael Crabtree may have a big year, he's been ok but with a new system and a new coach he could have a huge year.

Maybe stating the obvious but Sam Bradford could take another big step up. Also think that Dez Bryant will have a terrific year he showed glimpses last year but then got injured.

On the defensive side expecting to see the Packers secondary prove they are the best in the league, maybe Woodson moving to safety and Shields taking the corner spot opposite Williams

Maybe as it's definitely been mentioned, but Woodson will play Nickel corner for a large part of the game as thats what the Pack do and i'd still rather him on the outside when we are in base 3-4.

... and why when I quote does it never work! (Fixed that!)

I never particulary cared for players out of Fresno State.

I think Dez Bryant will be ridiculous this year. On the other side of the ball, and this is just not a homer pick, but I think Jason Pierre-Paul is ready to go in berserker mode in '11.

EJ Biggers will get a lot more playing time for the Bucs this season. He was mainly used as a backup and nickel back last year but he'll starting opposite Ronde when Talib is cut/jailed.

He looked sharp last season and his coverage was superb in some games. Statistically, he was one of the best cover corners in the leage last season, despite only pulling in one interception.

He was a 7th round pick in 2009 and spent his entire rookie season on IR.

He has all the physical tools, and a great system for him. Just hope it isnt against the skins.

Jason Pierre-Paul is an absolute freak and a risky but great pick by Jerry Reese. I see him as the second coming of Justin Tuck with Justin Tuck on that line.

But I think the player who's going to have a great season (especially for Fantasy Football owners) is Lesean McCoy. With defenses adjusting to the spectacular play (it hurts me to say that since I am a Giants fan) of Mike Vick, I believe Andy Reid is going to open it up more for the running game like they did when they had (a healthy) Brian Westbrook.

pierre thomas is my suprise pick of the year, hes still top of the saints depth chart, runs hard and catches well, if he avoids injuries i can easily see him being the fantasy sleeper of the year

Do you think Chris Ivory will do well or still ride the bench?

i think ivory will still get some good touches and maybe the goal line wrk but i think thomas could hit comfortably over a 1000 yards rushing

Jahvid Best he showed in the game against the Eagles last season what he can do but then due to injuries didn't perform as well in the rest of the games.

I think if he is given the weapons Colt McCoy could have a break out season, and prove he is the future for the franchise.

Matt Stafford, if he stays healthy will show he was worth the 1st overall pick.
