surely they could find a space for daniels, the guy is a very talented and experienced wrestler and would help younger guys out in the business

But Taker and HHH are already over. Daniels is not going to be known by the WWE's target audience and will need building up before he can make an impact. I'm guessing he wouldn't have come cheap as he is in demand from the other companies and there is always the risk that he wouldn't be able to adapt to the 'WWE Style'.

Yeah fully agree with this. Whilst it can't be denied that Daniels is a great wrestler, I don't think he has the style or imamge that suits the WWE.

I rate Daniels as one of the best in the World, a phenomenal wrestler but at his age he's not someone that WWE will invest in.

Considering WWE have made exceptions of Daniel Bryan and Sin Cara as well as Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit in the past I think the main factor that has held him back is his age. I know generally speaking WWE like big guys who are pumped up but they have employed enough smaller guys to not make them exclusive. Saying that I do think Daniels may not have been so easy to compromise on his style and WWE love to mould their guys into their generic stock of action figure wrestlers, the talent and risks produced by the likes of ROH would never make it unadulterated into the WWE.

Totally agree with this, I'd have loved to have seen Danials in ECW in late 2008 when they where talking about rebranding it as a genuine 3rd brand and bring in experianced guys to work with talented younger guys, Danials isn't someone they'd push so I'd rather see him used well in TNA

I had no idea he was 40, i'd put him at the 35 mark. I still think they could make use of him in some capacity. At IC and US level he would help bring importance to the titles, much he did to the x division title

The thing for WWE is that if someone isn't an already known figure which Daniels really isn't then they've not going to invest their time and money pushing him for such a short term return.

They had a look at him 10 years ago too when he was briefly one of the Conquistadors and it came to nothing then.

I didn't know he was one half of them Maccs, I know that whole angle was just to further the E&C / Hardys feud but I liked them

He had a match v Taka Michinoku as well for the light heavyweight title a few years back too.
