7 Up Empty 7 Up

Interestingly (well to this observer anyway) the last seven slams have been won by seven different female players-

Clijsters, Li Na, Kvitova, Stosur, Azarenka, Sharapova and Serena Williams.

Obviously Serena demolished all and sundry including Sharapova to win the Olympics and must be the clear favourite not to be thwarted by Stosur or anyone else this time around. If there were to be an eight player winning though who would it be? My money would be on Kerber.

Very interesting stat, particularly as the first three men's slams this year have been won by different players for the first time since 05.
Be surprised if Serena fails to take the US crown this year and even more surprised if someone other than the "7 Up" players were to conquer.

Kerber or Radwanska, depending on how Aggy is feeling. But I'll be very, very surprised if someone stops Serena.

Kerber just beat Serena, IIRC at Cincy. Wink

Serena's a different player in the majors though. Yes Kerber did beat Serena recently but in the big events we all know what Serena can and will do.

I watched the Angelique v Serena match. Serena's frustrations on her own UEs was on public display. If Serena can control both, she will probably have a much better chance in getting the trophy.

They do say that the only person who can beat Serena is Serena.

Difficult to see beyond Serena, but then I thought the same before the final last year.

I think she really wants it this year - so no, I don't believe anyone will stop her.

time please
