HHH and Vignettes Empty HHH and Vignettes

Post by I Blame Coco Sun 17 Apr 2011, 1:38 pm

- WWE introducing Awesome Kong through vignettes is part of Triple H's philosophy of wanting to build fans' anticipation for new characters, as opposed to just having them show up on TV.

As noted before, Triple H is taking over the developmental process of the company and it's expected his changes will begin within a week or two.

Among the changes is the fact that he will take charge sooner than later of who is brought up to the main roster and not bringing guys up before they are ready.

A good move IMO.

The receptions new guys get (heel or face) are significantly better when they've had vignettes for a few weeks before hand.

Of course he's got a good mind for the business - he's lived it for most of his life. Just like Vince McMah..... oh.....

Just because he's been around the business all his life doesn't mean he has a great mind of the business

🤦

There's a difference between HHH and Vince - Vince was/is a promoter, HHH was/is a wrestler. HHH has a completely different perspective having been in the ring - Vince may have performed in the ring on occassion and knows how to draw heat but he's not lived the life of a wrestler the way HHH has. I think HHH will look at it from the fans point of view more. The vignettes are a good thing - after all HHH knows the power of them as he himself was introduced into the WWE through his own vignettes.

I dont think Vignettes are the best way all the time, some wrestlers are better off with that mystery attached to them like Goldberg and Lesnar

The 'mythical' vignettes work really well, however I always remember the R-Truth ones before he came into the WWE. Some off the wall info about someone who's been in prison and now 'doing the right thing'.

I thought it was utterly cack.

Not everyone needs a vignette, they should be used sparingly to hype someone up as being something special. There's no need for every Tom, Primo and Harry to get a hype package for their debut.

There's no harm in introducing characters without vignettes, as long as we learn a bit more about them over the coming weeks.

true but I think HHH knows where to draw the line - after all in the past only the guys who the WWE are keen to push got vignettes - I mean look at ADR he got vignettes last year and he's very close to becoming world champion now.

I have to admit tho TP, ADR's vignette's bored me to death - I think I fast forwarded most of them - they didnt get my buy in.

I didn't watch any of ADR's after the first one either. It actually made me not care about him coming in, it was only the hype on 606 that made me interested. Without that I'd have been waiting for another Eric Escobar.

I think that the Vignettes work for wrestlers like Sin Cara and Awesome King. But I think some people dont need them.
