CM Punk hits fan in the face....

Anyone else catch the end of RAW when punk was in the crowd and ended up hitting a guy?

Think punk was getting frustrated with everyone pushing him, yet as far as i can see the guy punk hit didnt even really push him.

will he be punished? as bigger fan of punk as i am he cant get away with somthing like that IMO!

Bloke put his picture on Twitter showing literally no signs of being punched.

It's game over for his title reign. He'll be lucky if it's not his career too. As much as I love the guy, you can't react like that.

The report i read said the guy tried to shove him down the stairs. A few people began shoving and Punk told them to knock it off, but this guy kept pushing him in the back of the neck so Punk decked him.

I think the WWE is at fault personally. Letting a guy who's slagged off the city etc all night wander through the crowd without security.

yeah, looking at it again, you can see the guy punk hits out is just unfortunate enough to be in that spot as he is being pushed around by the cowards around him

Given that charges have been filed i very much doubt this is a work. I don't think Linda's campaign for Senate would need the bad press of wasting police time etc.

That guy accidently hit punk in the back of the head, so punk turned a decked him.

Anything Punk does these days is box office, the official line might not condone what he did but Vince will be creaming his pants at the hysteria he's causing

the second punch looked genuine to me, either Punk is an even better actor than I gave him credit for or he really was unhappy with the fans shoving him. He looked clearly uncomfortable and unnerved.

Despite this, actually thought Raw was very good last night and as we have seen in the last few weeks it is getting good again.

The main event was very good. The crowd was so good i think that's what made it.

The tag team match with Kane and Daniel Bryan was class.

WWE is on the up. Vince McMahon vs CM Punk at hell in the cell i say.

Sorry but they were asking for it. On steep stairs like that, and while your trying to play your character, the last thing you need is some idiot contunously pushing you which could have ended in a serious accident with Punk falling down a flight of stairs. Maybe it wasn't the guy who was pushing him, but he did clip the back of his head and probably thought 'That's it, your having it'.

I agree, he should have had more security but he will probably be charged and fined by the WWE but certainly not fired. He was provoked end of.

If this is real, and I'm not saying it is, but if it is real, then I sure as hell hope it doesn't affect his ability to come to the UK to wrestle next month, because Punk and Slater are the only reasons I'm going to see the Raw tour, and there's a good chance Slater won't perform, so if Punk is suspended/not allowed to leave country then crumbs... thats my night ruined.

Any wrestler in a main stream promotion who can get fans to attack him in 2012 is a freaking master of his craft

I can understand why he has reacted like this, we will have all felt like reacting like this while at the football, or in a crowd of any sort and you keep getting caught on the head and pushed by the people behind you.

That may just be me though.

And on a side note, did someone not agree to change their name should CM Punk turn heel and be truly hated, If being attacked isn't hated enough I don't know what is.

So we've got Alberto Del Monte ripping up a kid's sign then mocking said kid for crying and we've got CM Punk getting attacked by a fan and lashing out. All we need now is for Damien Sandow to push a granny and the trifecta is complete.

I hope this is a work....but even if it isn't I really can't see to much punishment heading CM Punk's way.

The problem is that WWE may now be quick to put the belt on the 'White Knight' that is John Cena come Hell in The Cell...if they do I think it is a major mistake.

They have been attempting to turn Punk heel for some time now and with problems. Up until this week he still got a tweener reaction...in fact some weeks he was coming to the ring with the best face reaction of the night.

Whilst there were still some cheers on Monday, during that segment with McMahon the reaction was crazy. There will always be some who cheer Punk because he says what we 'adults' think about the WWE and it's current mentality. But boy did he get booed this week. I don't think I have seen that kind of reaction to a promo between two stars in....actually I can't even think when. It was awesome....Keep that belt on PUNK if you really do listen to what the WWE universe wants/needs!!

It's a work - that hardly reads like a genuine, heartfelt apology, which I'm sure would be forthcoming if Punk had reviewd the footage and seen that he lashed out and not just hit someone, but hit the wrong person! He would be made to, or they would just write it anyway!

Would WWE, with their heightened sensitivity to bad publicity, really publish such a half-arsed "apology" if it was real?

If it was though, kudos to WWE for creating another OMG. I can't see it being a work though, I just can't.

It was too low key for it to be a work, it wasn't like they highlighted it, and it was such an awful punch as well.

Also - if this was real, why has no proper new organisation covered it? The world champion of WWE punched a paying spectator who had done nothing wrong?? Are you telling me no-one woul cover this except that one little news station that the fan spoke to?

I think it's because news outlets tend to avoid WWE stories just in case they do end up being revealed as part of a storyline.

that's because it was Hugh Jackman! The guy is Wolverine and he was promoting a new film. Hugh Jackman > CM Punk when it comes to mainstream media.

As fantastic a wrestler as the guy is, I do get the impression that Punk isn't particularly pleasant towards fans. This is just one of a number of incidents I've seen where Punk lashes out at fans with little to no provocation.

But the thing is, it's not always in character. He has challenged fans to fights at airports, for example. He seems a nice guy with the kids, though.
