AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS - INHOUSE PREDICTION GAME

First topic message reminder :

It seems the prediction games this year have been quite a hit with some, so on popular demand I have put together the Autumn International prediction game.

I have tweaked the way of scoring points a bit as the points difference one doesn't provide an accurate enough method due to - and + predictions as well as the penalty points weren't working out well. If you forgot to perdict a game you could still gain as a 50 point penalty could actually be the score difference.

So this time round it doesn't penalise you if you don't predict, but you gain no points if you forget to predict.

NB! if you are worried you might forget, predict them all in the beginning.

How it will work this time:

You predict a Home Team Name win or Away Team Name win or Draw.
Then you predict more than seven- Yes or No

For a correct (win) prediction you earn 2 points - home TEAM NAME, away TEAM NAME or Draw.
For a correct (margin) prediction you earn 0.5 points - more than 7 - Yes or No.

In the meantime, I suggest you get yourself a forum representatve, we will have open court and you will need a few character witnesses that can vouch for you.

All the participants in the Prediction game will vote on whether they beleive you or not. Therefor those character witnesses are very important.

I'd like to be fair about this. I know I am like marmite and I want all perspectives represented.

For that reason I nominate:
1) Kia - who has just agreed with me and also found his post was changed. I consider his statement already complete.
2) HERSH - Probably not helping myself but he's bound to say something that makes me laugh and make the loss of points more bearable
3) Bluesman - I've come to respect his opinions and I'm sure he'll be on board and provide a robust defense
4) Rugbydreamer - the token woman on the panel. Although I'm pretty sure she must have been banned because I haven't been suspended in a while now and I have said some uncomplimentary things about a Welsh performance.

Interesting that on one of our rugby shows here we had the following poll:

Which result was the most surprising?
Argentinas win over Wales or Frances win over Australia.

A resounding 80% picked the argie match as the most surprising. I wouldnt have thought it that clear. I would pick the same, but only marginally given the Aussies just drew with the AB's.

Mind you its the same show that had the following poll:

Sorry Biltong only just saw this when I cam to check.
'Samoa/ No' is the same format everyone is using. It means a win to Samoa and 'No' to over 7.

Lucky as it was 7...

Argie. The nature of Frances win over Ozzie was what made me pick France over Argie. Wales loss to Samoa does tend to confirm at this point that Frances win was probably more meritorious, though Oz really are in disarray as well.

In rewatching both wons last night just thought Samoa had more potential for attack so Changed it. Could have gone either way so I just got lucky.

Well done Tman, good call on the result.

lucky... not good to see Wales in this position. i'd thought they'd flatlined in Oz but they appear to be going backwards. Individual skills just are lacking regardless of who they put on the field.

Successful teams these days are those who take on the tough defences of todays game. % play will only get you so far and at best a tough fought out either way match, and there are many these days, no one really putting their hand up on attack.

Really really frustrating to see this directionless game all he time when so much more can be achieved.

'Have a go' seems to have lost all meaning, teams opting for so called strategies.

The ABs 'move the ball at pace'- all the time- is one simple way of doing it. This kicking into no mans land, playing the lines and %'s really gets me.

I look at a side and think 'Whos capable of breaking the line' and many sides just dont have many that can or worse, try to do that.

Frustrating.
