I called it early on this clown. His reported appearance on "I'm a celebrity........" will be the final vindication of my predictions for him.

A tasteless, classless fraud.

Dave667 has his TV schedule for the next few weeks sorted, I can see him foaming at the mouth in anticipation. All that pec flexing might be too much for him though.

Ben Dirs is flying out to Oz as we speak to write a feature on Haye's genius Level business acumen. Pro boxing IS all about the money don't you know.

Who cares? If fraud can unify one division and be a belt holder in another whilst making millions of pounds then i sure wish I can do it all, legally.

To be honest you don't need to be an accomplisher mind reader to guess that " I'm a celebrity get me out of here" was going through his mind July 2011.

Reality TV competition worked so well for Fraudley, getting him back into a couple of "fights" (for want of a better description). Maybe he thinks this is his route to a shot at Vitali. I can only believe it will end in in him looking like a right plonker.

To be fair...I heard Helen Flanagan was going in...and if that isn't enough to get you in the jungle then nothing is.

Lets be honest, it won't really affect him that much regards fitness..it last what 3 weeks maximum if you stay till the end. That's some easy money right there & given Jordan (Sorry Katie Price) was paid north of £500,000 I'm pretty sure it is one of the more lucrative gigs out there for Haye.

He could actually surprise a few and win over the general public, you never know. Also from a business sense it is actually quite clever if you think about. He will gain national exposure to 8 million plus viewers, of which I would assume at least some percentage will tune into his next contest.

Give him stick for his lacklustre performances or his 'Clownish' pre fight antics but giving him stick for taking an opportunity no doubt most of us would take if offered is a little bit daft IMO.

This is by far the most intelligent thing David Haye could do right now. He could go and fight a ranked contender to keep busy that nobody outside of a boxing knowledge has heard of, or he can be in a reality TV programme that all the grannies and ladies watch (I admit, I watch I'm a celeb, but mainly because of my missus) to gain some exposure.

3 weeks of nightly exposure, his PR company couldn't hope for anything better. He could announce he's going to fight a twix bar in his next fight after this and it'll have people foaming at the mouth. Doubt he'll win, although to be fair, he's a top top bloke from what I hear besides his idiocy when it comes to promoting fights - so anything could happen.

Well in David, good move.

Post by owen10ozzy Mon Nov 05, 2012 11:59 am

It just surprises me how so many people clamour for him to fight other opponents & ranked Heavyweights before a fight with Vitali.

Of course logic suggests it would be a good idea but the fact is that anyone who knows anything about boxing and indeed Haye would of known this was never going to happen. I could of told you that he would fight the minimum necessary for these contests when he first stepped up to heavyweight.

Just by looking at his career and listening to him you can tell he has not got the same passion for the sport as most. He is blessed with natural athleticism and talent but his actual love for it is pretty small...the sport provides a way of him making a very very decent sum of money and he has more or less admitted to that.

Whilst I would love to have seen him at least take out some of the garbage in the Heavyweight division it was never going to happen. When he stepped up he did so not because he was interested in proving himself to be better than anyone else but because he knew that he was a bigger name than any of the other fighters. He knew the brothers knew that as well and he more or less immediately had a 'mega fight' there for the taking. I'm sure he believed he could beat Wlad & I wouldn't hesitate to say he believes he can beat Vitali...but the main motive was money.

You can hate on him as much as you want but lets be brutally honest here the man has been clever enough to unify a large portion of the Cruiserweight division, win a Heavyweight world title & make millions from more or less 4 PPV fights (Valuev,Ruiz,Harrison & Wlad). All in the space of 28 fights. He has barely taken any punishment during his career & will eventually retire with all of his senses in tact and with a heck of a lot of money in his bank account.

No alma it doesn't hence I said unified a large portion...which he did. Of course there will always be a dispute as to his standing amongst all time Cruiserweights but the fact is that he won the WBA, WBO & WBC Cruiserweight titles in only his 22nd pro fight. 2 of those belts he won in his opponents back yard after being put down in the 4th.

Ha, no problem Alma..I did read back my response & think 'sounds a little bit abrupt'.

I do agree with you, the Cruiserweight division was hardly sparkling when Haye campaigned there & to be honest it hasn't been great for quite some time. I would have liked to have seen him stay and take on Cunningham (who he would have handled with ease) and then Adamek but of course he had his sights set on the big name fights with the brothers ...which you can't really blame him for.

He does at least come to fight and is usually in some absorbing contests. However I do feel it shows how far the division has dropped when we have to claim he is the best thing to happen to the division in ages.

I would have no doubt now that Haye could drop down to Cruiserweight and dismantle any of the top dogs. I would have liked to have seen him stay there because he could of legitimised the division & that in the long run may well have helped it.

The problem is that there is just no money in the division. Whilst it kind of is a defunct weight division though it is required more than ever because of the sheer freakish nature of the Heavyweight division now where the top dogs & prospects are 6ft 5 + and weigh in anywhere between 17 1/2 to 19 odd stone!!

According to the missus who watches such crap, they have a gym in the camp, so expect him to be doing the whole posing thing with yer Rosie Webster woman hanging off him. The pair of publicity hungry clowns.

Is there any chance that Haye actually comes out having changed perceptions of himself...i.e. he ends up getting people onside?

Just a thought. I have met the bloke a few times and he has always come across as articulate, humble and happy to give up his time.

That's just my perception mind, would be intrigued to learn whether anyone else has met him and how they found him to be....

Obviously the camera's are their so it may be the postering and over confident Haye that we end up seeing...but I do hope not because he gets a lot of stick as it is and I know & have met far worse boxers than him!!

Is it just me that really doesn't think Rosie Webster is anything special? I understand she has a chest but that's not enough to make up for her ropey face.

And I was of this opinion before I contracted yellow fever so it's not because of that. She's just nowt special and I don't think deserving of the attention really.

Don't really like birds with Northern accents (nothing racialist as my mum, aunts cousins etc have Northern accents). Rosie Webster is definitely a bit chip fat. Like Welsh accents and foreign birds mostly.

Yeh can understand your point lads...but as you say she has a chest which she is happy to flaunt and the derriere isn't too shabby either..

Not class a material but for a single 25 yr old she isn't too bad an eye candy and if I happen to catch any of the show then i'm sure it will be the moment she is underneath some kind of waterfall in a bikini...purely by chance of course!!

Going back to your point owen about whether Haye will manage to change people's perception of him. That is surely the main reason he's going on there?

I remember him on Soccer AM a few years ago (I left the UK in the middle of 2009, so before that) and he seemed like a decent bloke. Of course some of his more recent exploits have not been the actions of a 'decent bloke' and he can have no arguments if people choose to dislike him.

Can he change that? I think so. Most of the viewers of this show won't be boxing fans anyway. All he'll have to do is be a nice bloke while he's there, pull his weight and not moan, and the Hello readers will love him.

With Haye not being willing to fight anyone other than a Klitschko and thinking about his future beyond boxing, which I think he wants to be in the media, as Jabmachine said earlier - this could actually be a very good move.

For Haye the man anyway, if not Haye the boxer.

Poor STRONGY, still tormented by his hatred for a man who doesn't give a **** about him.

Tell you what though big boy, I'll choose whether or not to watch David Haye and you can run up a massive phone bill either voting for him to eat kangaroo nipples or vote for your favourite, Rylan, on the "X-Factor"

Maybe Haye will come across well but given there's 24 hours of footage to whittle down to 60 minutes (minus 25 mins for adverts) I doubt the producers will be interested in Haye saying "Please" "thank You", "how very kind", "don't mind if I do" or anything else that might make him seem vaguely human if there's the slightest chance of him leering at cleavage or threatening to punch Brian Conley

Oh my lord...are you serious Strongback?

I fear your trying to just rattle the cage on a rumour that has never existed to be honest!

He didn't look all that small to me, granted he will probably lose weight whilst in but it's three weeks maximum and I don't see him losing sleep over it.

He has actually released a press statement which would have been written a few days ago on his website today.

http://www.hayemaker.com/news/article/252/haye-ready-to-rumble-in-the-jungle.aspx

More or less gives us the reason he decided to go in and as we discussed mainly due to the challenge and chance to show himself away from the sport. Plus like he says November is a free month in the diary!!

I have heard a few whispers in the last 3 days that he will be fighting Vitali and the dates I have heard are May/June next year with Vegas (amazingly), Germany & England (more precisely Stamford Bridge) If anything concrete is confirmed and I hear of it I will let you guys know.

He's fought at over 220 at HW and was ripped. Look at his fights and images and look at I'm a Celeb and come back to me.

I was getting my cup of coffee this morning and overheard a couple of women in the queue talking about how sleazy Haye is.
