Why does.......?
I have been bothered for quite some time now, why does Randy Orton RKO people over tables or steel steps. In my mind he is only increasing the force of the fall on himself, the opponent would not feel and significant difference in my opinion. Anyone have an idea?

The same reason people dive off of the top rope, or lay a chair on somebody and jump on it. It looks fairly cool so realism takes a back seat.

Yeah totally, realism takes a back seat in wrestling, just suspend your belief and enjoy a chair shot or top rope dive for what it is...entertainment

We just need to remember pro wrestling has a lot in common with movie stunt fights and that often reality has to take a back seat in favour of stuff that will get a reaction from the crowd.
Of course, well-executed fights can get a big reaction just for the slickness and/or perceived brutality of the moves, rather than for any overt flair / showmanship.
