First topic message reminder :

Hey guys, first time back in a brave while.

Heading to the Odyssey on Saturday night for this after the other half decided she would be rather pleasant and got me tickets.

Surprised to see there ain't been much chat about it on here. Guessing Reeborn has disappeared too. Anybody have any details on the weigh in tomorrow as I'll be in Belfast and wouldn't mind paying a visit.

Nah, had Selby winning it. Just Lindsay did better than I expected. Lindsay landed the clean shots, just not enough.

3-1 Selby

I definately think Lindsey is landing te cleaner shots but Selby looks the boss although has struggled to landed anything cleanly to the head yet

I have it 2-2

A solar flare must be effecting my satellite connection and it keeps freezing Wink

I've only watched part of the 6th round to be fair.

However, from what i see, both boxers seem comfortable with the fact that they are quite evenly matched. One needs to put their foot down.

Selby is controlling this fight with ease. He could stop Lindsay if he wants with those body shots.

Like i say, I'm having some technical difficulties at the moment so it's hard fr me to judge the fight.

And while it seems Selby is winning it looks as though if one of them really put their foot down it would make a big difference.

He's normally a lot more defensively sound but I think that he felt Lindsey's power and knew he couldn't be hurt so is taking more risks

Selby is well within his comfort zone though so against a better fighter his defence would probably be a lot better.

Another round for Selby, Lindsay to go for broke now and get stopped.

Solid performance by Selby, not perfect but through showboating and his exciting style he'll gain a lot of exposure and tonight will have done his career no harm.

European level next for him, mandatory challenger for that title I think.

Good fight, Selby looked a class apart. Great slot selection though he does hang his chin out. Agree he isn't particularly likeable, that showboating in the 12th was almost disrespectful.

Selby's defence is leaky, but he seems to have some good shot selection and decent pop. Be interesting to see how he develops

I'm not a fan of Frampton's tendancy to leave his glove hanging. His warm up even included it. It's illegal isn't it? I know you get warned in the amateurs for it.

Frampton is going to have to work hard to keep this lad off him. I don't know what Martinez' chin is like but if it goes late then the pace may effect frampton, even if the other guy is considered past it.

Not quite sure how a fighter of 26 with only 30 fights to his name could ever be considered past it, with the exception of Munroe he's consistently proven himself to be the best in europe.

Saying that, it doesn't matter how good your chin is, if you get hit with the first shot and leave your chin out to dry for the second, third and fourth shots then you are in trouble.

Frampton is moving around too much and losing rounds. Needs to gain Martinez respect. Plant his feet and stop him from bombing forward

It looks as though Martinez has half decent head movement.

The problem lies is when he gets caught flush his head remains stationary and he gets caught with the third and fourth.

didn't see that coming. Does Frampton retain his power as the fight goes on. Or did Martinez chin deteriorate with tiredness.

Either way. Great result. Well done Carl.

Me neither. Planted his feet and hit him flush from a short, sharp shot. Great finish. Quigg v Frampton is the fight, but they may want to build it more before they stick two undefeated fighters in together

Was more of an accumulation of shots MM, Frampton was finding those shots all fight and seemed to shake up slightly earlier in the fight. Great result for Carl, one to bigger and better things now.

I thought it was quite one sided, difference in talent was obvious. I had it give it 5-3. My point was if Martinez tired then it would be very one sided.

9 to 3 (or 8 to 4) if it went the distance.

I think that's fair to say?

I think we need to sit back and congratulate Matchroom for one of the best cards there has been in ages. No disgrace for Lindsay tonight. When your opponent comes in about a stone heavier and is better in every department, you are screwed.

But big congrats to Frampton, massive test. Moved well, picked his shots brilliently, got his whiskers tested and stopped a decent chinned credible experienced European Champion. That fight couldn't have went any better. Every box ticked. He will have learnt so much for the next step.

Hopefully Quigg gets experience like that. Him and Martinez would be a barnstomer. Quiggs chin is doubtful after Jamie Arthur laid him on his face with a jab.

Was suprised Framton let Martinez into the game. Was worried by the halfway point that Framton was showing signs of gassing. Framton has solid whiskers and retains power late. 2 Great attributes that a boxer needs to go all the way. Have seen quiet a bit of both boxers over the last couple of years, and had thought that Frampton would have been more polished than that. Definetly not off the learning curve yet, but that fight will definetly stand to him.

Quigg needs to get his next fight signed sealed and delivered, to make the prospect of the two unavoidable.

Fair play to Belfast, They seem to respect and enjoy their boxing, can only be a good thing. Atmosphere seemed electric, imagine if every euro title was supported like that across Britain. Boxing would be booming.

Does anyone think Martinez should have been given another go after the knockdown?? After all, he was the champion and altho wobbley, fighters can still get their legs back.

Thought the ref was a little too happy to jump in to end it.
