PEDS again, or not?
There's not a chance in hell that young lads like Frampton are taking PED's.
Footy is certainly not.
I doubt Calazaghe or Froch did/do either.
Maybe our lads sometimes fall short for that very reason?

Re: PEDS again, or not?
Its a possibility what with all the recent failed drug tests & the questionable 'nutritionists & Strength & conditioning coaches' working with some of the top fighters at the moment. But sometimes I feel that training techniques in UK boxing haven't progressed much compared to the USA. It seems there's a lot of 'tried & tested', one sizes fits all approach to Boxing training here, the S & C not being looked at/ created purely with boxing in mind. Also some of the fine tuning/tweaking we see/hear about in the USA seems to be lacking here. Watching some behind the scenes stuff, especially with Hunter & Khan is really interesting. Also with MMA so big in the states & an evolving sport boxing over there seems to have a better attitude towards it & has been taking a few tips from it. I found your links with regards to improving footwork on another thread really interesting, can also see why you are such a fan of rigo & fancy his chances.

No.
Just the ones based in your country!
I can't believe that's being taken seriously

I'm going to have to say Mackem this is a gross generalisation, I'd have to say there are a number of international boxers who don't take PED's who are doing mightily well.

So what is your opinion, is that why you think our lads fall short?

Did anyone listen to Skysports toe2toe this week? Larry was on and they asked him about the drugs, his excuse was that he was working two jobs and needed help recovering and all he was doing was levelling the playing field. Spencer Fearon had to try and hide his laughter when he said the PEDs didn't help him against McDermott.
Apparently he'll be fighting again soon so hopefully they'll be very strict with his testing.

He should just give up his bodybuilding job & stick to boxing!

Sometimes there are times when its best to say nothing!

The young fighters don't need ped's as their natural levels of testosterone are high and they can train hard and recover.
At 30 it gets harder for a fighter but when you see a guy hitting 40 getting bigger with better endurance while hitting like a mule you need to have a look at who his strength and conditioning coach is.

Stongy, what are your thoughts on the power Froch displayed in his last fight?

Re: PEDS again, or not?
He showed a fair bit of power in his last two fights. I don't want get into specifics about a fighter as it just gets removed.
What I do think is guys in their 30's will be feeling the pace and whether to take Ped's or not will be on the agenda if they had been clean up to that point.
