So who does he want to fight? Empty So who does he want to fight?

Post by rob-glos Sun 10 Feb 2013, 8:12 am

Now Tyson Fury annoys me at the best of times but...

http://www.worldboxingnews.net/news/2013/02/09/tyson-fury-dismisses-alexander-povetkin-only-wants-to-fight-real-men.html

So, he doesn't want to fight the Klitschkos, he doesn't want to fight Price unless he's paid 1 billion dollars...
Povetkin is out of the frame as he's 'not a real man' whatever that means....

So who's left at any kind of decent level?
Helenius?
One of the Americans who have nobody on their records?

He's beyond parody.

He does talk a lot of rubbish. I'm not sure who told him Cunningham is the top heacyweight in America either but they're deluded.

Tyson Fury is nothing more than a 'Stiff Idiot'. It isn't even a game of self-promotion or marketing because he really isn't that clever. He is ducking everyone he can and I look forward to the day David Price decapitates him if it doesn't happen before then.

He is just a mong. He isn't a man at all. Dismissing fights with the world champions and not fighting his rival.....he is the joke of boxing at the moment in my eyes. He has taken it from Arum.

As a group of people they are generally thick, aggressive and the people who drag society down.

I've always backed Fury, but his latest outbursts are frankly ridiculous, although relatively amusing.

He does well to get people talking about him. That's fine by me - just as long as he actually fights someone noteworthy at the end of all the talk. If he doesn't, he's making an absolute joke of himself.

I don't agree with the term traveller. As they have shown, they don't travel. What they do is in fact settle illegally on land which is not for that purpose. At the same time house prices drop and local crime goes through the roof. Probably coincidence though. Thank god the taxes the contribute to the local community can go towards fighting crime.

What is the correct term, just so I don't get caught out again?

This is all fascinating but back to who Fury might actually want to fight...

How about Pulev?
He's putting together a pretty decent record and hits hard.
Although he's now the IBF mandatory for Wlad...

But he would be a live opponent which could rule him out I guess...

Listened to Fury on last weeks toe2toe podcast and he first said that Cunningham was a tough opponent and would be a test, but later said he would chase him round the ring like the old cruiserweight that he is.

He really needs to be quiet now and fight a live opponent.

Tbh I'd even take a Chisora rematch right now....

He won't face Price. He won't face K2 (as per Price also). He won't fight the next rung down.

So we're left with the usual bums and stiffs he and Price have been feeding off so far.

Apologies super, it's not a word I've ever had to spell before. Anyway, I used to work with a weegie and in his opinion any Scotsman not a weegie was a teuchter. Seems teuchter is in the eye of the beholder.

At least Cunningham is under 40 and has a better resume than anything Price has been in the ring with.

Got a very tough decision against Adamsk who hasn't done too bad at heavy and has beaten Huck who gave Povetkin all he could handle.

Cunningham can fight. Remains to be seen if he can make the step up.

he can't fight price in a WBC eliminator with price, arrerola vs striverne is the WBC eliminator, which is happening soon. unless vitali beats the winner before the summer which is unlikely (especially if he is interested in haye) then it won't happen, and i don't think price deserves a eliminator fight on his current record.

They are all jokes.

The whole American and UK scene is woeful. Just a buch of women arguing on Twitter.

When was the last proper competitive domestic etc heavyweight fight.

Wilder is an embarrassment, Mitchell got found out against Banks, and Fury is fighting garbage. Price is only into his teen fights but is at least stepping it up a little. He will surely be judged properly on his next 3 fights I think.

What the hell is Richard Towers doing?

The Europeans are leading the way with the UK and USA disgracefully limbering behind.

Terrible division, there are worse divisions, but the Heavyweight one is the most shameful.

I though his last fight was the "semi final" eliminator with the Areola fight being the same. That's how Boxrec has it anyway.

And just as quickly, there's an article denying that Price is in Fury's plans:

www.boxingscene.com/team-fury-david-price-not-even-on-our-radar--62339

It looks to me like Fury is going to try and take a path through Cunningham and then the winner of Arreola-Stiverne. If he gets through those he'll either get to fight an old, ready-to-retire Vitali or, if Vitali has already retired by that point (distinct possibility) then he would either be given the WBC title or have to fight another contender for the belt (of which there aren't too many great names to choose from). It seems like a viable path for Fury to a WBC title, and I would understand him taking it rather than fighting Price. I'd love to see it happen and for him to face Price later on for the WBC strap. That would be a big fight.

Az knows no bounds when it comes to exaggerating statements, being utterly hypocritical, and when trying to undermine his selected opponent with oh-so-subtle name changes (Princess). There's no point in even trying to challenge it. Just see the ridiculousness for what it is.

Anyway. Despite the fact that Cunningham is a CW, it's a decent fight for Fury. I absolutely wouldn't complain if he didn't step back to fight Price if he was working his way to that WBC belt. If he beats Cunningham, Arreola would make sense. Who knows, if one of the scenarios I described above happens, he could conceivably win the WBC belt without fighting Povetkin or Klitschko - just as he promised. Fury has his nose in front in terms of rankings and the clarity of his title path. It's up to Price to catch him up. TT is a step, but the one after that will need to be better.

Bottom line is, Fury is better known. He fights on terestrial TV and his rants gets people talking. He brings more money to the table and is moving faster towards the HW title scene that Price is.

That's why he had to give tickets away for free for previous bouts, mmmmkay........... picard

Doesn't matter. He brings more to the table. He is better known. People talk about him. Whenever Price's name is mentioned the convo moves on to Fury. But whenever Fury name is mentioned, the convo remains with him.

Obviously the tickets also reflects the opposition also and the relative competitiveness of the fight, the card etc. Wasn't it a full house when he fought Del?

Yup. Probably all true. If he takes the route to the title rather than face Price in the near future, I'll have no complaints.

Why did you say that Fury was a lumbering oaf on another thread.

I kind if feel sorry for you. Coming on an anonymous forum for attention. You mustn't have a lot going on in the real world. Think you need a hobby/boyfriend.
