My initial thought was Stone Cold but I couldnt recall him beating HHH for the title so Its got to be Vinny Mac.

Yes it was Vince. He beat him (as a face) with the help of either Steve Austin or The Rock. Cant quite remember which. But he relinquished it the next night and I think it was won back by Triple H at the next PPV in a 6 man fight that involved the British Bulldog if I remember correctly. Although it is safe to say Steve Austin would have took the title off Triple H at some stage, but I cant remember him ever beating The Undertaker in a Buried Alive match. If he did then that makes 2...

He beat HHH for the WWF title on Smackdown IIRC in 1999 (with a little help from Stone Cold) then vacated the title and set up the Six Pack Challenge match at Unforgiven.

He beat Taker at Survivor Series 2003 in a Buried Alive match (with a little help from Kane)

And he won the 1999 Royal Rumble (with a little help from the Rock).

Austin beat Taker in a Buried Alive match. Think it was at In Your House in 98/99. Huge assist from Kane.

But i had to google this, he didnt beat HHH for the title.

Really?!?! How the hell is that possible. Austin was top face and HHH was top heel in the Attitude Era. They had plenty of matches together and a massive rivalry. They also had plenty of title reigns so I find it astonishing that Stone Cold never once took the title off The Game!!!!

wwf rock bottom was the event for the buried alive match between austin and taker, i have it on vhs

survivor series 03 was vince win against taker, strangely i also have that but on dvd

During their massive fued during the tail end of 00 to early 01 Kurt Angle was the champion, who was fueding with Undertaker and The Rock.

Not quite. Austin won the first fall (singles match) Triple H won the 2nd (no DQ) and Triple H again won the last one (hell in a cell) after they both knocked each other out and HHH fell on Austin to get the 3 count.

What was the match tht hhh had (2/3 falls) that he won 2 straight falls? Or am I just making this up?

No Way Out 2001. Austin won the first fall (standard match), then Trips won falls 2 and 3 (Street fight and Steel cage respectively).

Who'd have thought it, Austin the number 1 guy, lost cleanly to Triple H, the PPV before his biggest WM match against The Rock.
