Asthe movie cup comes to an end, The Music Cup is returning (same format as this years movie cup).

If anyone wants to join in, please show your interest below and you will be added to the entrants.

It looks like Sodhat has disappeared! He missed the last two rounds of the movie cup, so I would appreciate if someone wanted to step up to the plate and take over the running of the music cup.

Soddy is almost always on, but I haven't seen him for a few days and he missed a deadline for tactics in the sports gaming section, which is unheard of for him. I expect something has come up. Wouldn't hurt to get someone else to run the cup I guess, in case he's not back in time?

Yeah, sorry, I spent a few days in a haze in Nottingham. I'm back now and I can still do this in the absence of anyone stepping up.

I will give you all a category when I am back from a delicious Tesco lunch, and you have to PM me your nominations in said category.

You get your first nomination unless it has already been chosen, in which case I will take the second. If that's gone too, we'll send someone round to bust your kneecaps for wasting our time.

I put a poll up with all nominations, and you fine folk, and cherries, vote for your two favourites. You may vote for your own, too.

the people who are involved get given a category each week (for example, Song with the word "love" in the title).

You then PM Sodhat with two nominations (in case your first has already been picked) along with a brief reason why your choice should win.

When Sodhat has got the full list of nominees, he posts a poll and the whole forum votes. A few days later, the one with the most votes gets the most points and the next category is given.

Over 10 rounds, the points are added up.

the nominations are anonymous to avoid any bias of voting. however, you will most probably notice my nomination as it will be an 80s prog rock number.

Right category for round one will be:

Song from the decade you were born

PM me your two selections by Thursday morning, and I will put the poll up as soon as I'm in work. Anyone wanting to enter still can so long as you nominate by Thursday morning (around 9am, or later if you are lucky and I wake up late).

Round two should be sent at the same time, and that category will be:

A song sung by a female vocalist
