Tremendous wins today for Durham and Yorkshire... neither should be underestimated. Durham are a limited team but have the best captain in England, if not the world in Collingwood.

All sorts of interesting results in Div 1. Yorks get going with some panache. Durham better than I expected. Meantime Derby not looking good, latest heavy defeat after starting match so well will hurt them.

Surrey will need to get some positive results at some point - maybe Middlesex will take some risks when its their turn bat to try and give themselves a chance to win.

Middlesex have quite a few 'free flowing' players (Denly, Malan, Stirling) so they'll probably go at more than 3 an over. Fear is that they might struggle to get a really big total. They're quite good at making 280, but rarely make 400+...

Bat first, opener gets 270, lose by an innings. Ouch. Jack Brooks looking like a good signing for Yorkshire. Also a very good win for Durham against a very strong Notts side complete with Swann and Broad, nice to see Borthwick in the wickets.

At the end of gay 1 when the opposition are 300-4 having been put in by your captain, optimism is never high. Amazing turn round.

Erm

Great comeback also by Lancs to turn the tables on Glam.

Meanwhile Warks v Sussex meandering toward a draw unless there is plenty of enterprise shown on the last day.

As corporal says, Lancs pulled off a remarkable win over Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay (nice ground, but apparently not a wi-fi hotspot...). Glamorgan bowled out for 139 chasing 154 in spite of 61 from Will Bragg. Chapple took 4 wickets and Kerrigan 5. Kerrigan has a knack of doing well in these type of scenarios, which can only be a good sign.

Warwickshire v Sussex is in stalemate. Sussex 416-7 responding to Warwickshire's 453 with just a day to go. Wells got 96 and Ben Brown is 82*. 3 wickets for Boyd Rankin.

In Division Two, Gloucestershire completed a win over Leicestershire in a match rather harshly dubbed as a wooden spoon decider. Michael Klinger scored a century in the Gloucs chase.

Northants remain in top form, beating Kent by 7 wickets today. Trent Copeland took another 5-fer to make it 10 in the match.

Very impressed by Collingwood's captaincy at the Oval today. Mentioned a bit more in the ''Surrey v Durham CC'' thread.
