Why hate Arum?

Evening readers,

I write this not to provoke but to enquire, as my knowledge of Arum is only very recent, why is there a great deal of hate flying around?

Compared to GoldenBoy (who I dislike even more with every passing quote) the stuff I read in the press from Arum seems much more logical and considered. He is painted in a decent light by the seemingly excellent Thomas Hauser when looking into the troubles at HBO and in comparison to GoldenBoy.

Please, enlighten me.

Because he's a scumbag. Quoted as saying "f**k the fans", which should be enough. There's also Tex Cobb's quote about Arum, which I'm failing to find. It wasn't complimentary.

As Balti said, he is a low life.

I don't know he has done a hell of a lot for boxing and has put on some great show.

All promoter are a bit dodgy, it is apart of the game.

He's not just dodgy though. Delboy Trotter is dodgy. Arum's a vile chap.

Who'se the more dodgy promoter. Arum or King?

Judging from the Cobb quote (that I can't bloody find) it seems Arum's the worse. Won't SOMEONE find e that damn quote?!?

That's the one, much obliged! People may try using Arum's achievements to play down his bad side, but that's like saying "oh, Hitler was bad but he brought unemployment down".

That's the one!! I know it's maybe said for comic effect, but I reckon there's some truth in there too. Cheers Zeb!

Dana White's criticism of Arum is probably the most accurate.
White simply states that Arum care's only about making money and has no interest in the future of the sport.
