As I said regardless of whether he has or hasn't lost a step the fact remains that the credit tonight should go to Froch who changed his game plan slightly from the first, used the jab more and more importantly showed that looking after yourself away from the ring, putting in an unprecedented amount of work even when out of camp goes just as far in making a boxer and helping a boxer as practicing your combinations on a punch bag.

Its not disrespectful to analyze the fight. Anybody who has watched Kessler's career could easily see his normal high work rate was not evident.

The difference in Kessler was he got beat against a fighter he beat before. I didn't see any great change in Froch, the change was Kessler's decline. A fresher version of Kessler would not have let Froch jab his face off.

Legacy wise, which is the reason for Froch wanting the rematch, then Ward holds all the aces with regards a rematch.
He's the consensus number one in the division and has already beat Froch so of Froch wants to wipe that slate clean then he should travel again.

Next year? He's not getting younger and Groves is improving with every fight. Fight him now or he will lose to Groves which will damage his legacy. He'll beat Groves if they fought in september. Next year he loses.

i'd like to see froch rematch ward, but in his final fight, as he has earned the right to pick a few more winnable opponents. he is clearly second on the division but still some interesting match ups for him. i'd love to see him step up and beat cleverly for another world title in another division.

No, to the casual fan in the US Andre Ward is hardly PPV... The US market is hardly an effete and discerning market. Mayweather, Wright etc. struggled to get decent PPV and fill 14,000 seater stadia in the Vegas for much of their careers where as DLH, Mosley and Ward Vs Gatti are held in high esteem.

In the eyes of the US casual fan, Froch is entertaining and comes to fight. HBO were broadcasting the fight tonight. It was news that Ward vs Dawson got PPV....

As is every other fighter thats fought him. I dont see the others rushing to get back in the ring with him.

Froch is 35/36, Mick Hennessy nearly ruined him, he hasnt much time to make big money, so just move on with Hearn and he will do that. Ward needs Froch and was trying to hype a fight in his interviews earlier.

A fight against Steglitz for the WBO belt wouldnt be a bad move and one he would prob win.

its not that much weight to put on, and most fighters can move between weights successfully, and froch trains as hard as any of them.

He was out classed by Ward for %90 of the fight. If he came to England Froch would put more pressure on Ward but Ward has an out standing defence and would probably find more openings.

Ward beat Froch at his own game as well lets not forget. When Froch brought him into the inside on the ropes, Ward landed the better shots and just looked better all round.

Being beat by another fighter isnt always about going back for another go anyway. Why should Froch fight him again, he went straight for Bute after that defeat and he became a talking point among people who dont usually watch boxing.

Ward fought a skinny Dawson and then went after an alcoholic in Pavlik.

Froch has put hard work into where he is now and if he gets criticised for not fighting Ward again then thats a shame. After all, Hatton gets praised for being beaten by Mayweather and they never fought again

I wouldn't mind so much if he did that as it is a fresh fight with an unknown result, Froch v Ward has happened and unless something dramatic happens chances are the result would be the same, a dull schooling for Froch, he's probably got 6 fights left at most optimistic, why waste one of them on another Ward fight that a) Does nothing for his popularity with the casual b) Bores the backside out of all

I should point out if Froch did choose to fight Ward again, particuarly in the U.S., I'd respect his ambition and his desire to right the wrongs, I just think he'd be better served accepting and moving on
