WWF Brawl for All
Has anyone ever seen these.
It was a mix of boxing and wrestling and was supposed to be legit. From memory, some of the matches were legit, but others were worked between the combatants (for example Bob Holly allegedly asked Gunn to go easy on him if he let him win).
The tournament was supposed to push Steve Williams but he got knocked out by Bart Gunn in a early round. This was the final between Gunn and Bradshaw - you can see that this isnt staged!

The winner got $75k and a match against Butterbean (some reward!).
We all know that wrestling is scripted but this was an early kind of crossover into MMA territory.
Enjoy!

Re: WWF Brawl for All
Yeah I remember these, total fudge up by the WWF! I mean if they wanted to build up Dr. Death's reputation with their audience, why not show footage of him in Japan, have people talk him up as a badass, and have him destroy a few jobbers/mid-carders? That would have easily prepared him for a feud with Stone Cold. Oh yeah and it would have helped if he hadn't shown up on his WWF debut in a blazer with leather elbow patches, jeans and cowboy boots. He looked like a damn subsitute teacher for crying out loud!
As for the Brawl for All I'm trying to remember who pulled out of the tournament after the first round? If I remember rightly Ken Shamrock wouldn't take part in it at all because he didn't want to hurt anyone, then after the first round Dan Severn pulled out. Did Steve Blackman do the same?

anyone know what Bart Gunn is up to these days? He was a legit tough guy. Interesting to hear you say Bob Holly asked Gunn to go easy on him, I thought Holly was another legit tough guy??
