We have had lots of debate already happening, but those are all part of different other threads, on Cook's opening partner, on Arthur's sacking....... They can't be merged here, but we can use it as a larger Ashes preview thread? What do you say, Stella? And the moderators?

If we get 25 days in, 5-0 is a very real possibility. However its England, so we won't, and the Aussies are bound to play up in some games, so I'll go 3-0.

Tremlett has said he's ready for the Ashes. May put some pressure on Broad and Finn for a place, but he's also behind Bresnan and Onions in the pecking order I feel.

Aus lead wicket taker - Mitchell Starc with around 25 wickets

Winner - England 2-1(Aussies will take up two draws)

England lead scorer - Tough to decide, but KP and Cook will lead.
England Lead Wicket taker - Jimmy Anderson will take the crown, but if conditions go like that of CT Swann will also not remain behind.

Australia Lead scorer - Not difficult to decide, It will be Clarke, but Rogers and hughes will also show their hands.
Australia Lead Wicket Taker - Pattinson, if not struck by an injury. Starc will also not be far behind.

I too hope that result go this way. I am backing Australia ahead of England. looking at the two practice matches it is looking sure that team has recovered from the tantrum of the previous performance this year. The inclusion of Rogers top the order provides a strong stability at position 1,2,3,4.
