Anyone got any hidden gem interesting boxing facts to share? Im always on the lookout for some. On another thread someone said Chavez Jr began his career at super featherweight. Interesting!

Here is another one. Alvarez weighed more in the ring in his light middleweight fight against Trout than Billy Conn did in his famous heavyweight fight against Joe Louis. And at the weigh in the promoters were so concerned with Conns weight they stood on the scale to make Conn appear a few pounds heavier than he was to the public!

The other eye might have been annoying and got on the other eyes t!ts and then there could have been a fight between the two eyes leaving Frazier very disoriented and swinging into thin air

Before his weigh -in for his fight with Donny Lalonde, Sugar Ray Leonard went and bought 50 silver dollars and had them sewn into the lining of his tracksuit bottoms to make it appear that he was heavier than he actually was.

Ok running with the weight theme, here is one. George Carpentier of the boxing HoF fought in every weight class from flyweight to light heavyweight! And whats more, he didnt manage to Fat-Toneys 100lb weight gain while doing it!

Old George fought at heavyweight too, jack Dempsey being his most famous fight (apart from ww1, that was a pretty famous fight for him too).

Carl Froch has not fought in a single recognised War, and has in fact, never once, served in any trenches

Carl Froch was pruning flowers but decided he didn't like them where they were situated in the garden. He dug them up and re-planted them in a new hole. This took him several hours and he got quite a few nasty scratches. To this day Froch sees this as him fighting in the trenches during the War of the Roses.
