Solomon Crowe new gimmick

Former Indy star Sami Callihan, who currently works down in WWE NXT as Solomon Crowe, posted the following on Twitter, revealing his new gimmick in NXT.
The gimmick debuted during last night's NXT live event in Tampa, FL, and according to reports, while NXT star Kalisto was cutting a promo during intermission, when the lights went out, and when they went back on, Crowe was standing above Kalisto who had been laid out.
Crowe was holding a tablet, which he apparently used to "hack" into the arena system and cut the lights, and he also used it to play an Emergency Broadcast signal sound during his entrance. Once he finished laying out Kalisto, he again used the tablet to cut lights and play the sound so he could exit.

If it's done well then it could be cool, I like the idea of gimmicks like this...gimmicks that bend reality and the wrestler has to sell as if it was real, like Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family.
The truth is, everybody knows that wrestling is fake, that they all have real names and the stuff that they're saying is scripted...WWE should play on this, bringing back OTT gimmicks.

The problem is that this will get backed on the internet because of who it is. If it wasnt a darling then it would be slated

I don't think that's true, look at Bray Wyatt...he was Husky Harris and people still like him due to a good gimmick change...if the gimmick is good enough and the person sells it well enough, it can work whoever is playing it.
I do agree though, there will be people who dislike this gimmick but still act like it's amazing due to who it is.

To be fair, Wyatt gets a lot of grace because people liked his gimmick in NxT

If he wants a good gimmick, he could try some creepy face paint and rapelling down from the rafters (I see he already does this "lights out...lights back on" thing).

I'm guessing crips hasn't read that bit, blowing kayfabe (I'm sure he's got no problems blowing Kay Fabe) isn't a trend he's keen on
