Go on then chaps - battle it out
You can do Picasso vs Matisse here as well if you want to
Or Christiaan Barnard vs Terence English

A thread for those for whom the stress of the Aus Open is too much

All I'm saying... is that Tilke doubles up as a German racing driver. And Brunel is English. That is all.

Also Picasso is really poor. Overrated - Like an old school Damian Hirst (let me take a skull and encrust it with Diamonds = art) or something. Matisse is better, but only because Picasso is worse, not because he is better, If that makes sense

Tilke is German. That's just another way of saying "efficient but soulless".

Brunel had a top hat and big sideburns. You don't get characters like that in the modern game.

Also, most of Tilke's work is racing circuits. He's a specialist.

Brunel did bridges, tunnels, boats, even a hospital.

He also won the Henry Bessemer Fair Play Award eight years in a row.

Can't comment on sideburns because I have a pretty impressive set myself - but Tophats are ridiculous

Picasso was a genius. His early, more realistic work shows first his genuine artistic talent. Then his blue period was very blue.
His cubist stuff redefined was allowable in art.
Then when he got older he did lots of filthy sex-related sketches.
What more could you ask for?

I must admit, the impossibly large chain links behind Brunel do look quite impressive, but it's worth noting the blonde lady in the background of the Tilke picture is probably hot.

Yes, Picasso's early works were brilliant, but his cubism (?) was essentially stealing old African designs, while his sex "scenes" carry less weight with infinite po.rn on the internet

The blonde lady was probably just trying to make sure she doesn't hog the limelight. A feat those ridiculous chains managed quite well

I do actually like Picasso, including the cubist stuff ('stuff' is a technical art term I like to throw in to show my expertise) - have been to the Picasso museums in Paris and Barcelona and there's some brilliant stuff (again) there.
Don't like Matisse's use of bright colours so much.

Matisse over Picasso any day.  So much genuine talent compared to cheap tricks.  It is like Michael Jordan vs guys from Harlem Globetrotters.

On that basis alone... Picasso almost looks a decent artist.

I'm not much of a cultural holiday guy, so I haven't found a reason to visit Barcelona (and probably won't for a while given my new PS4, the ridiculously big LED tv I bought myself, and the current slump of the local currency) or Paris. Maybe a live viewing of Pablo's great works would convince me.

I cant afford the jewelry, and I have a hatchback, not a pimped out GMC.... But excluding that, and the fact that I have a Hendrix-esque afro, youre probably more right than wrong. Has way bigger arms than me though... But we share a similar love of Nike sneakers...

But you do pity fools?

Hendrix Afro, sideburns, muscles, tiny t-shirts... Would it be fair to say you don't blend into the background! Wink

Unless that is a common look in Johannesburg?

I always pity fools! I even pity average intelligence...

Well, I haven't seen too many guys walk around with Afros and sideburns (understandably so - it's expensive to maintain and takes forever in the morning), but Id say the muscles and mini Shirt look is quite common in Johannesburg - Im just one of the few who also have a respectable, decent paying job!!!
