Super sub gets best try award for 2013

First time the AB's have won it it seems and good to get on the right side of the ledger after the last two were scored against us.

Good team effort, length of the field and from memory it was held up to check Rangers pass 70 odd meters back!

Nice, made me feel all warm and fuzzy that did. 'That' try against Ireland (sorry) also sticks out as far as AB tries. Recall SA scored a few gooduns this year. First time we've won it by the looks so good for us.

What was more impressive was the defence of NZ to get the turnover ball and then the presence of mind to pass it out wide inside the 22.

There was another try in that match where the defence was even more impressive holding out France (they didn't score a point in that match), pouncing on a mistake, shifting the ball to the right part of the field and players holding up the pass and passing into space.

Last year was a great year for tries and from our side of things South Africa and Ireland, to an extent France really chimed in with some good uns.

That with some of the Lions and Oz series tries and the Welsh versus England last years 6N, the SXV and even the women turning in length of the field beauties I think the top sides all did our game proud last year. Lets hope this year has more of the same.

Barrett has some serious pace to go with his skills, he carved the Boks up at Johannesburg when he came on in the second half as well.

Great recognition for him.

Le Roux is no slouch. He had a big head start on Barrett in Ellis Park and I still don't quite understand how he managed to tap his heel to prevent the try. A genuine super sub that does damage to teams when they are tiring.

Agreed Biltong. Was at the NZ Ireland game and Barrett broke almost every time he had the ball. Looked a lot bigger than on TV too. Every time he got the ball the crowd held its breath in a "Oh sheeeeit" manner.

I loved that try Le Roux laid on for JP against Scotland I think. That was special too.

And he finished off an end of the game try the following week against the French as well after coming on with something like 5 minutes to go.

He's getting himself a reputation for making excellent cameo's. The boy has wheels thats for sure.
