Will Evolution have a 4th member?

Evolution are back! There is one thing missing though, The Future!

Back in the day Evolution consisted of the past (Flair), the current (HHH) and the future (Orton & Batista).

In their current form we have the past (HHH), the current (Orton & Batista) but what about the future? Are Evolution around just to put over The Shield or are they sticking around through the summer for a series of matches? Don't forget, Orton still has to have his rematch with Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Will we get a fourth member? Do you want one?

There are many people talking online about a member of The Shield turning on his team mates with the obvious favourite being Ambrose. I don't think it will fit Ambrose's gimmick. Walking round in a suit just doesn't go right with him imo.

I've read a couple of people saying maybe Reigns will turn. I think it would suit him, he can be a cocky heel then eventually turn on Evolution for his big face push.

Other names being thrown about are Ziggler, Sheamus among other current midcarders looking for something new.

What are your thoughts?

I'd rather not see Reigns become Batista Jr tbh. Not clued up on it, but somebody from NXT would make sense

I think it'd suit Ambrose down to the ground. Or Barrett. I'd personally rather see them reintroduce Flair if anyone and for it to be used as a vehicle to get The Shield over before breaking up. It might damage anyone from outside to get involved in this for short term

Flair and Ambrose promoing against one another in the ring would certainly be a spectacle.

Hasn't Flair damaged his legacy enough? The TNA run sort of showed that if you give him a platform he will abuse it.

I wouldn't be overly surprised to see Flair return in the magerial role, I feel hencould completenthe set and swing the victory at Extreme Rules which could lead to Sting showing up and backing The Shield

I dont think Evolution will be around long enough this time to get a fourth member. Batista and Orton still have claims to a title match.

That said, a screwy win for Evolution is the only way I can picture it ending at ER to keep the feud going. After the beatdowns, a clean Evolution win makes them the stronger group, while a clean win for The Shield makes Evolution look weak and no real threat.

I'd take Flair back over anyone.

Does Batista have any claim to another title shot though Samo? He was the one who tapped out at Mania.

Flair would be great, he's a good enough heel to get heat even now hes at the "old and loveable" stage.

The storyline they were going with was that Batista earned a one on one title match against Orton at the Rumble, not a triple threat match, which meant he had a smaller chance of winning the title

Fair enough, cheers for clearing that up for me. If they're gonna stick around for a bit then I'd love them to give someone the rub of being associated with them. If it were up to me I'd say Ziggler, maybe even Rhodes. Both have flirted with the main event but have never had that big moment that got them truly over.

I've ruled Flair out of returning purely because of the effort taken to edit him out of the vignettes from Raw.

brad maddox is the 4th member

Batista will be taking time of after ER, for around a month. So ill imagine Orton will get a shot at Bryan at the PPV after Extreme Rules.

Damian Sandow could work if tweaked a little. Other than him I see no one else who fits or is in a position to join Evolution. And that's probably why there won't be a 4th member.

Dean Ambrose would be the only one i see becoming the 4th member. Maybe Sheamus.

Big E could fit but I doubt it'll happen.

SnOrton and Boretista regular get the Boring chant levelled at them, so why not bring someone through as the future and who in NXT embraced the hate and has vignettes recently.

I don't think Bo makes any sense as a member of Evolution, nor do I think it would do him any favours.

If there is to be a fourth member then I'd go for either Wade Barrett or Cody Rhodes, they've got the look and are proven in the ring, Barrett and Rhodes are future WWE Champs in my eyes and I think they'd not look out of their depth stood with HHH, Batista or Orton.

Sheamus would look daft in a suit. He'd look like a ginger council estate meathead who got lost on his way to the Job Centre.

Barrett's already had a gimmick change, he doesn't need another one.

I'd go with Ryback. He'd fit the bill perfectly for me.

I think Ryback or Axel could work. Axel has the history and it would hide his flaws. I think Big E or Ryback could work cos they'd be quiet and imposing. I don't see any of it happening mind you

Very outside option - how about a woman say Paige.

Have her dominate the divas division too.....

Ric Flair is set to appear on Raw this monday

I'd love for them to ramp up the intensity by having the Shield take out Flair but seems unlikely

Rumours suggesting Sheamus' heel turn will be properly cemented by replacing Batista in Evolution when Batista has some time away.

Sheamus started to hint at a heel turn on RAW but was back to full face on Smackdown! He got a pretty good reaction against Dean Ambrose as well, probably had more of the crowd with him than Ambrose did.

sheamus would be a pretty good fit, he needs to do something with his gimmick to freshen it up and it's pretty well known that him and Trips are friends so it's believable.

Him having the title from Ambrose further pushes the Sheild/Evolution angle too

Rhodes would fit imo, 2nd generation superstar good background history with Orton as it is. They could play that Orton already picked Rhodes for future success etc, can easily pull out good quality matches and hasn't had a world title yet so a better option than someone like Sheamus imo.

Joe Hennig aka Curtis Axel should be inducted into evolution that would help him become a champ in the upcoming years and hence keeping the legacy of his family.

I wouldn't be in a rush to bring anyone new into the fold to be honest, I'm really enjoying Evolution at the moment and their main job which is basically to establish all members of The Shield as main players is working, if you add anyone at this juncture then you potentially run the risk of over complicating things, I really like and rate Cody Rhodes, the same goes for Sheamus too and the likes of Curtis Axel also have potential HOWEVER....Would beating any of those guys mean anything even if they were under the Evolution banner? I'm not so sure. Also, if you introduce new talent to Evolution you then have to consider getting them over, while I'm a believer that you don't need to go over to get over that doesn't necessarily ring true in this instance, if you're integrated into a group like this and you dont go over your big angle you look like the weak link and it devalues the group.


TNA should be looked at as an example here, look at the Main Event Mafia, on paper that should have worked but it didn't, I feel doing this with Evolution would give you the very same result, if Evolution aren't in it for the long haul then just adding members devalues what they can offer

It not only devalues Evolution but kills the new guy. He'll be thrown into a new gimmick as the lowliest member, in a group that needs to lose to be worthwhile in the end and shouldn't really last for too long.
