Tonights Action - Spoilers Empty Tonights Action - Spoilers

Post by hampo17 Sat 10 May 2014, 7:41 pm

Anybody watching tonights fights then? Boxnation is live now from Liverpool. Eubank JR is on the card against another guy nobody has heard of, and Derry Mathews faces Martin Gethin for the British Lightweight Title which should be a good scrap.

Kid Galahad challenges for the vacant Commonwealth title on C5 from 10pm, Hughie Fury is on that card but I'm not sure if C5 will show that.

Then Boxnation has Arreola vs Stiverne from 1am. Arreola vs Stiverne is first up on that card and will happen between 1am and 2am.

Galahad got a 4th round stoppage over an overmatched opponent and Chris Eubank beat another overmatched guy. Then decided to announce nobody can beat him Laugh

Galahad looked alright. I'm warming to him.

Any better domestic fights for him bar Frampton/Quigg (Which won't happen)?

Agree about the opposition, thought galahad looked good though. Eubank carried his guy. His dad was marmite, but junior is very hard to like. Copies the moves, none of the eccentric charm.

Dannys lead jab come hook hybrid is doing my head in. Why keep throwing it? Great jab, use it.

Danny needs to throw some punches, just not the left hook.

He carries a bit of timber fingers... Not sure I'd mention if I met him in a bar. Still in this though if he's capable of upping the pace... Looking less and less likely though.

Fury looks alright. Bit one handed, nice fast jab, though he flicks it, decent movement for his size. His right hand is a bit of a roundhouse bar room brawl punch.

Needs a friggin rocket up us arse, ive never seen such a lack of desire in a fighter. Very winnable fight for danny, he'll watch this back with regret. Hughie fury is going nowhere.

I think people are getting away with fury and mistaking loose shoulders for talent

..., maybe thats abit harsh.

I'll reserve judgement on fury... he's still a spotty teenager. Big spotty teenager, mind.

Mathews wins on a split decision, 117-113, and 115-114 to Mathews and 116-112 to Gethin, not sure about the card tang went Gethins way personally.

Matthews just won't go away will he, going to be a thorn in many upcoming fighters careers for a couple of years yet, maximised minimal talent to the extreme.

Good heavyweight fight between Arreola vs Stiverne. Strong start by Arreola, but Stirvene caught him in round 5 with a temple shot that Arreola couldn't recover from.

Hopefully this opens up the division somewhat.

Stiverne impressed me, that was probably the best Arreola I've seen, and Stiverne really dealt with him well.

That shot was pretty much perfect, referee would have had a good reason to stop it after the first knockdown as Arreola didn't move when asked to walk forward, Stiverne against Klitschko next. Would be very interesting if Stiverne connects.

Having read the reviews online it sounded a very good fight with arreola winning in the cards handily, but got caught by a great shot.

Stiverne holds some serious power and has quick hands.

I think Stiverne vs Wilder would be very very good.

I think Wladamir knocks him out in 10.

Stiverne knocks out Wilder, easy fight.

Against Wlad... In Vegas? Where the latter couldn't lean and hold the guy without being DQ'd? Hmmm. Stiverne has the speed, power and size to give Wlad issues. Not saying he wins, but he stands more of a chance than any other HW at this moment in time.

I think Stiverne will make Wilder look very silly indeed. Wlad in Vegas? Different matter, but take away the holding/leaning and there's an intriguing fight... However, with Wlad the bigger draw it'll be in Germany.

How soon before David Haye calls out Stiverne???

Yeh wilder's just fought bums. Stiverne has fought arreola. And err arreola.  He has hand speed power and decent variety. As for the size to trouble wlad. Is there some theory that wlad struggles with short tubby heavies I've missed? Looks like Meat and drink for the jab and grabmeister to me.

Yeh i agree, I see nothing in Stirvene that will trouble Wlad.
