First topic message reminder :

Seems as though Joe Cole has been released by West Ham, might be a solid bargain for a lower league team if hes prepared to drop

I think Snodgrass is your standard "too good for the Championship, not good enough for the PL type player"

compelling and rich wrote:have to say while its understandable its pretty disappointing that we haven't signed anybody yet

really think this major overhaul has been majorly overplayed by the media. if we were bringing 5/6 players in we would have seen at least one/two signings in already. cant see us signing more than 3 players after the world cup. let's hope those three players are the ones we need because we will have another season of disappointment if we get it wrong. CB,CM,LB are musts for me, and would have been nice to see a winger and maybe a another CB/RB come in.

2x CB, LB, RB and 2xCM is what I genuinely believe we need

If we play Jones consistently at CB he may just go on to prove his potential but then Rafael, Smalling aren't good enough, I like Evans but he's only a decent squad player to have. Evra is too old, makes silly mistakes and gets caught out of position the more he goes forward, Buttner is just poor. in CM Carrick, Fletcher, Cleverley, Fellaini is a disgraceful combo in any variety. Lets face it Cleverley might be alright to keep in the squad (controversial), not on much wages, won't complain if not played regularly. Fellaini was a huge mistake from the off, Carrick usually is quite reliable but last season zero through balls, zero assists, zero goals is not good enough if you want to be challenging for titles, Fletcher...poor Fletch, used to be one of the first names down on the team sheet but his illness has ruined him, shame for the lad really

I think the media reports of this spending spree come from that. They're seeing the holes and having a field day while they sell their papers

I was surprised when we went in for Shaw that early considering a) I don't even think LVG will know who he is and b) I didn't expect anything from LVG until after the WC when he officially takes over

Aren't the stories now that the reason the Shaw deal hasn't happened because he hasn't sanctioned it (again more media garbage no doubt)

We definitely dont have strikers who have scored plenty in other leagues!

That is much my point though, he is just another mid table plodder signing. When he wasnt even your best player last year then I wouldnt consider him to be an exciting signing. Celtic would be perfect.

Hmmmm Ledley proved his worth at Palace this season IMO. Hooper was very disappointing.

Remember when Middlesbrough signed all of those key Rangers and Celtic players and they were bottom of the Championship after a month. Very big difference in standard.

FABREGAS TO CHELSEA!!

WOW ...Arsenal also turned down first option on him...odd move on their behalf as they are in need of at least 4 players to really have the depth to mount a serious and sustained challenge.

Chelsea looking immense for next year...with Cech apparently set to depart for Courtois...

Courtois

Ivanovic Terry Cahill Azpil

Ramires Fabregas

Willian Oscar Hazard

Fabregas signs for Chelsea for £27 million which is a very good signing for a reasonable price. Must break Arsenal's fans' hearts though, it's a move that did seem to come out of nowhere over the period of about a week. Seems very strange if Manchester United didn't try to sign him after last year. Problem with Van Gaal not joining until after the World Cup, is if reports are to be believed he is doing more blocking of transfers to United than he is trying to sign and by the time he joins up with the club, big players will have moved and his main targets may end up feeling underwhelming.

Fabregas takes the number 4 shirt which confirms Luiz's departure to PSG.

Fabulous team for Chelsea next season then.

I think they should win the league next season, and they've got a very real chance at getting European glory as well.

It must mean major changes at Barca too. The team's near enough on its knees. Although they have signed a goalkeeper I reckon they need 3-5 other players.

Alves-Pique-Marquinhos-Alba
-----Rakitic-Busquets-Iniesta----
-Deulofeu----Messi------Neymar-

Not sure Reus will come this year. By next year Barcelona will probably look to Gundogan to replace Xavi.

Never worked out for Cesc at Barcelona, for me, he`s much more suited to the EPL & it should be interesting to see how he gets on at Chelsea. As for Manchester United, I don't know what's going on. To me, looks like LVG will go & sign young Dutch stars from his WC team & develop them, along with Januzaj & Shaw. United won't attract the experienced, big stars without Champions League football & that appears to be how its panning out.

If Matic is ever out of the side for whatever reason I'd put Mikel in instead of Ramires. I'd leave Ramires as a rotation player for the right side of the pitch whether that be winger/midfield or as an emergency right back.

United are a shambles.

No mass signings of young Dutch players when lvg is only going to be there for 3 years.

Schweinsteiger links to United getting stronger with both Independent and Times reporting interest and it'll be up to the player if he wants the move

Depending on what you read at left back LVG reportedly not interested in Shaw and more interested in Jordi Alba, although in other reports Southampton want Hernandez as part of any deal

Why on earth would jordi alba join us?

No idea why schweinsteiger would want to either.

Ill repeat shaw and a centre half for the first 11 will represent a very good window.

A centre mid would make it an excellent one.

Cesc joining Chelsea works for all. Arsenal will never challenge for the title again under Wenger. United have a long way to rebuild. Joining Chelsea makes perfect sense.

All the best to him. Chelsea winning the league already looks likely.

Not sure wether to believe to but it is fair enough to justify huge money being spent on last minute targets.

Mind you the board forked out for fellaini so I don't really believe it.

We have had a white away kit a few years back

I think we have identified our failure last season. We didn't sign one Leeds player. We get relegated. Evidence is overwhelming

Luiz deal confirmed. I think Luiz gets more stick than he deserves but £40 million is a ridiculously good deal for Chelsea.

Lol, van gaal can sign all the ditch players he wants.

On tonight's evidence he could just go to the youth team and win the league.
