What's the deal with all the Russia and Putin stuff

The guy is Bulgarian and even has a Bulgarian tattoo - how are the WWE even thinking they are getting away with it?

The average member of the 'Universe' won't know the difference between Bulgaria, Russia and North Korea. Besides which, Wrestling has always been pantomime; the Junkyard Dog didn't really live in a junkyard (or did he?)

They dont hide the fact he's Bulgarian, but make it look like he defected to Russia.

Its purely to cash in on the real world issue of Russia annexing Ukraine, even though I dont think thats ever been mentioned.

My problem with Rusev isn't his nationality. But I've forgotten, or was never clear, on what his purpose in WWE.

Sure, Lana likes him to "crush". But I don't get a strong feeling that they care if they crush a jobber or John Cena.

Instead of coming out and getting cheap heat by saying Putin over and over. I'd prefer Lana to come out and tell the crowd how Rusev has just defeated the man who was the IC champ, twice in back-to-back PPVs and he's going to show how much more talented this athlete is than any American by winning the IC title.

The world would be a better place if Lana came out and said that.

Rusev has helped the real americans turn face, i think that is best for business

And she has actually made a point of how wonderful Rusev has been for beating Big E. The next step is, as a man who will wind people up, to CRUSH those who go for him.
