Who you've got?
Originally I wanted a Billy Joe Saunders win, but the closer the fight has got, I am now warming to Eubank Jr.
Either way it it's a cracking fight and should beat last weekends showing all on its own!
Now to find a pub that's showing it...

Re: Who you've got?
I think Saunders outclasses him people need to remember its Jnr fighting not his Dad, i cant get my head have around why so many are tipping such an average novice to beat the British, Commonwealth and European champion. Ask yourselves if his name was John Jones and had the same record and such uninspiring past performances would you be backing him to win. To many hearts overruling heads in this fight.

Re: Who you've got?
We have no idea if he's average or not that's the point Hogey, it's not as if Saunders has shown himself to be levels above the domestic guys he has faced thus far. If he didn't outclassRyder or Blackwell then I don't think he miraculously improves and does that to Eubank jnr who we should note will outweigh him significantly in the ring.

Re: Who you've got?
Yes but the vast majority turn out to be average or worse, but for some reason people are presuming Jnr is better than he has ever shown in any fight. Based what i have seen of him so far average is a fair summing up. Has never looked anything special even against mediocre opposition. I think Ryder puts Jnr away comfortably as well.

Re: Who you've got?
The crowd will be with Saunders but I don't think that will phase Eubank.
Eubank Snr has asked that the ref take a good look at Saunders in this fight because Chris really fears for BJS wellfare lol. He says that his boy is a dangerous young man so confidence going into this fight is not an issue. I sense the Eubank's are looking for the ko which I think will come after Chris backs Saunders up against the ropes.
If the fight goes long I see BJS points win.
The Eubank's will make some noise about that tho.

Re: Who you've got?
Could throw that exact same argument against Billy Joe though; he may well be European, British & Commonwealth champion but in his biggest tests he hasn't looked above any of those levels. He has won...but has not look outstanding at doing so.
He looked far from emphatic against Blackwell and he was pushed every step of the way against Ryder, a guy whose 3 opponents before that had a worse win/loss record than Eubanks past 3 (a point plenty of detractors have been using against Jr).
Add in the fact that everyone seems to have overlooked perhaps the biggest point of this fight, and one which is usually used when determining fight outcomes....Saunders has had 1 fight in the past 15 months...1 against a man who was champion only in name...he is hardly a stellar name.
I don't really mind who wins this one, good for british boxing either way, however both my head and heart think Eubank is going to take this one.

Re: Who you've got?
It'll be interesting to see what happens with Eubank Jr when things don't go his own way. At no point in his career have we seen that, while we know Saunders can ride out the tough times and still come out on top and get the win.
That said I'm going for a Eubank Jr stoppage at about 7 rounds, I think his Saunders is to hyped for this fight and will want to tough it out, and that'll be his undoing.

I have bet on Eubank winning and a separate one on him winning in rounds 7-12

As a fellow ex public school boy, and brightonian, I have absolutely no choice in this one, Eubank all the way!

Re: Who you've got?
Quick question to the people out there who watch a lot more boxing than myself, what percentage of the time when commentators say "oh and he's in trouble" is the fighter in question actually in trouble? About 50 %, less even?

I was fence sitting and maybe originally leaned towards Saunders but now Eubanks for stoppage.
If I'm wrong I will blame the leffe beer. Which is by the way 6.6% alcohol and 4 75cl bottles for tenner in Tescos. Good s..t guys if you fancy it. Hits the head good

Re: Who you've got?
Almost zero ,most off them, even the ex boxers talk complete bollox, massive bias towards to the channels house fighter is the rule.
The best example being Froch v Groves when sky asked Khan how the fight was going and he replied that he has Geoves ahead. The sky man seemed utterly amazed that he Khan hadn't read the script that said the block that missed with with all his power shots and most of his jabs wasn't bossing it. I suggest listening without any sound on and making your own decision is best way to judge a fight.
